Good luck trying to get thru on the phone to make an appointment. 45mins to an 1 hour avg wait time. They try to push you to the web, but an older person desires to schedule by phone. If you ever leave a message for a doctor or nurse, there is very rude, condescending older lady on the other end. No customer service skills at all. Horrible person to speak with. This practice was once one of the top PCPs around Midlothian back in the day, then all the quality, top notch docs retired and all your left with is the sour face and demeanor of nurse Jo and Dr Goddard, who specializes in medical gaslighting.

One of the worst medical physicians in Central VA area. Goddard and his nurse Jo are are just going thru the motions till they hit retirement time….and I don’t think that’s far off. Good riddance. Not a practice that Senior Citizens should avoid at all costs . Dr Goddard talked down to my elderly parent and his nurse Jo is in the biggest hurry to get off the phone if she ever has to call and pass along a message from Goddard. Her dour speech of saying to me when…”What are you here for today”? Not friendly and hardened personality of someone who’s has worked the same job for 30+ years. Visit this doctor at your own risk.

Not really a Doctor who cares to treat the elderly. I have had experiences and witnessed this when taking my Mom for her appointments. I want nothing but the best for my Mom and I will seek a quality, top notch Geriatric Doctor in the Richmond VA area who genuinely cares.

There are better Doctors in RVA area. All the good doctors that used to practice at Midlo Family Practice/Virginia Physicians Inc have all retired. Dr Goddard, his nurse Jo leave a lot to be desired and the others here(especially all the new hires)…have this place trending downward. Time to find better. Richmond has a lot of PCPs, they got to be an improvement !

I moved to Virginia from NYC recently. I am an amputee and have lots of health issues. I have been diligently searching for a PCP since June. Non seem to be accepting new patients. I finally found Dr. Goddard. Unfortunately, I was a bit confused about where I was going and arrived 10 minutes late. As a result, Dr. Goddard refused to see me. 👀 There were 3 women at the front desk, I tried to explain. No one seemed to care. They were not at all friendly or welcoming. I felt as though I was being scolded. It was extremely disappointing that I was refused a visit. Especially because I took an Uber, it was a waste of money and Life is physically challenging for me. Its not easy getting around. A bit of empathy or compassion goes a long way.

The best doctor out there in our opinion. Moving back to Richmond so as not to change. Nothing I say could do justice. Simply a life saver.

Highly recommend Dr Joseph Goddard. He is kind, listens to your Concerns, evaluates, and discusses your options. He always makes sure your questions are answered. Never rushes you! Thankful to have chosen him.

My husband and I moved to Richmond two years ago and it was really hard to find a new Primary Care we could trust. When we found Dr. Joseph Goddard, we were able to see him in a very short time and since then we can say that we have found one of the best doctors out there. He has always been so kind and patient, when you are telling him your concerns he pay close attention and he really cares. We are so happy to have a primary care like Dr. Joseph Goddard and we really appreciate all the kindness.

Dr. Goddard is great, but when I called today to ask if my new insurance would be accepted, the female receptionist was very short with me and it seemed as if was a nuisance for inquiring. There was no further information given other than “We don’t take that.” Nothing more. I would hope that the practice I have put my trust into would be a bit more kind and professional when telling me that I need to find a new healthcare provider. Customer service really needs improvement. Again, no reflection on the care I received.
