Dr.Billings is one doctor I do trust and trust is a strong word , he did my surgery over 11yrs ago and everything went very good , great attitude, manner and break everything down in details , I am now back in his hand to see what is going on with me because everyone else's don't know.
Who did surgery on my husband several times to fix things that went bad and ended up getting a disability Iisability letter from the doctor different doctor saying it was catastrophic so he got on disability and we had to go to Richmond and get his hernia fixed and colostomy fixed it was a big emotional that's of our life
Without God and Dr billing , i would never be here now. He attack my stage 3 colon cancer very aggresively and he gave me that will to fight for it along with my family support .I'm bless that he is my surgent back than in 2012 .
Dr.Billings has a great bedside manner and explains procedures and recovery in detail. Only critique, the nursing staff should return calls in the event there is an emergency.
Good surgen but he needs to be more patient during q and a. Always in a hurry. Needs to over-communicate better. In other words sit with the families, dont stand acting like you are rushing. Give them ample time.
Terrible experience with this “doctor.” His office called us to tell us that our insurance would not cover a procedure for my daughter, However, when I called my insurance company they told me the person from his office said to cancel the procedure because she didn’t want to to the paperwork for a prior authorization. My daughter and I drive from Chesterfield to NewPort News and showed up in his office unannounced to challenge this lack of professionalism. Ultimately my insurance covered the procedure. “Doctor” Billings couldn’t be bothered to speak to me or my daughter after her procedure, and she was discharged with absolutely zero post op instructions regarding her specific procedure. When she got back to her apartment in Harrisonburg she passed out in the bathroom. I called the on call “doctor” from this practice, who couldn’t be bothered to return a patients call. Three calls and an hour went by before I was connected to him and he was obviously annoyed at having his evening interrupted. I could hear him in the background asking for a pen and a piece of paper to write down my daughters phone number. The on call “doctor”wasn’t prepared to return any calls that evening. I guess he had more important things to do than return calls from a surgery patient who passed out! “Doctor” Billings (I have put “Doctor” in quotes throughout this review as both gentlemen from this practice are a disgrace to the medical profession and should not be allowed to practice). called my daughter today and asked her specific questions about whether she was taking a warm bath twice a day. She replied she was not and was not told to. She called back to his practice to ask a nurse about this and was told that even though she got no discharge instructions from the “doctor” who couldn’t be bothered to speak to her or her father after her surgery she “should have known” she was supposed to do this! If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, chances are high it’s a quack. If you need surgery, go to a real physician, not this Donald Duck quack place! Rev. Douglas Gestwick
Terrible experience with this “doctor.” Avoid avoid avoid. Get a real physician, one who speaks to the family and patient after surgery, unlike this quack. Too bad I have to give him one star to rate him, he deserves two less than that! If you love you family member and care about them, find someone else, this is not the “Doctor”for you! I’m exploring a malpractice case against him, he was so inept. Don’t make the mistake we did, go to someone else. Anyone but this guy!

I had the resources to go anywhere in the country to get the specialized cancer treatment I needed... but I am forever grateful that I was rushed into Dr. Billings care from the beginning. His candor and compassion gave me confidence that he was bringing the latest and best treatment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
