Smart, curious, and thorough doctor. I really don't understand the other reviews of Dr. Achieng. I can understand being frustrated with what was perceived as one-off instances of possible lack of communication, but to give anyone a bad review based upon one incidence isn't fair and is a mis-characterization of one of the best doctors I've ever encountered. I've been to several doctors in my lifetime and three other sleep doctors and Dr. Achieng is by far one of the best. She took more time with me than any other doctor has in talking to me trying to determine the cause of my narcolepsy. I learned more from her about my condition during the initial intake than I did from all of the sleep doctors combined that I'd seen in the past. She was very responsive as well through the myChart portal and she was fully prepared for my initial visit not only had she reviewed all of my MRIs but she took the time to talk to my neurologist to learn about my specific type of Multiple Sclerosis. I could not recommend anyone more highly than Dr. Achieng.

I have never had a doctor for my son who is 23 with CP that does not call nor respond to message in the Riverside My Chart. I trying to understand why my son seems to not be important is it because he has CP is he not important. I need doctors who just care.

If I could give Dr Achieng zero stars, I would. She did not review my MRI report before my follow up appointment and told me there was nothing wrong with my brain and cervical spine, that my symptoms were caused by anxiety. When I saw the report in my chart, I did have several serious issues with my brain and spine that she didn’t even mention. There isn’t enough room on this form for me to express the distress she caused me. Her behavior was negligent. Her gaslighting cost me time and money, prolonged my pain and delayed my treatment. Everyone makes mistakes but her lack of accountability and the fact that she made no attempts to treat my conditions is unacceptable. I would advise you find another doctor and avoid Dr Achieng.
