They are so RUDE and unprofessional.

Dr. Hoerr preformed our daughters cleft palate repair. It was a complete success. He explains the procedure perfectly, cares about his patients, and understands the parents perspective. Our daughters original pediatricians missed the diagnosis of her cleft palate, and really made me lose trust in the medical field. Dr. Hoerr brought that trust back tenfold. We are so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to do this journey with him as her surgeon. Thank you again.As for the nursing team who helped our daughter in recovery, thank you. More importantly than helping us, they were angels to our neighbor. A baby had a cleft lip repair, and for reasons unknown to me , was left all night by his parents. The nurses answered every cry. They even took him to the nurses station to rock him to sleep every time he needed it. They comforted him and cared for him like their own. Going beyond their jobs. We could not recommend this team enough.

The registration office lady in window 1 today needs to change her attitude she's horrible to deal with asking for my kids social security number when it should already be on file in the hospital I just cannot believe the way she was acting horrible her job's not that hard either sitting in the office all day and get paid

We took our daughter here last night for a reaction, and everyone from the front desk to the doctor was absolutely amazing. They were very professional, and got us in and out in a timely manner. Our nurse Hannah was great with our daughter, and our doctor was even more amazing. She was very knowledgeable, patient, and made sure to constantly check in on us. I would drive here from the Peninsula from now on for any sort of medical issues our daughter may have.

It's my Birthday I am exhausted extremely my son has been here a couple days I have been trying to sleep and I am going to snap if I cannot do what I need to show proof and none let's me up to be in the room with my son I'm sorry I have basic needs. And this hospital the nurses are iffy and they are not respectful I'm going to get in trouble if my son has to stay here another day I cannot do this for fuck sake!!!

The wait time in the ER is pathetic!!!! The staff that works in the ER department are very rude and unhelpful on top of being inconsiderate!!!!! I am not sure what has happened over the years, but 10 years ago it was not this bad!

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is a hot mess , they need more caring staff and a faster patient care system . I checked in at 6:17 am and didn’t see the doctor until I requested the nursing supervisor 5 hours later . When checking in the triage nurse was giving report to her replacement and made a statement I don’t have any concerns about anyone in the waiting room. Then 3 staff members was having a full blown conversation about a sick patient and her parents . Stating the patient needed blood transfusion . Once I got to the back the doctor which was a student /resident came in gave me a diagnosis when i asked was my child contiguous he couldn’t give me a straight answer . Not once did he look in her ears listen to her heart or lungs . I basically sat in the emergency room for 5 hours to get her vitals done. And the only reason anyone came in is because I opened the door and asked how long . one nurse responded oh I thought the doctor came in to see you the other nurse said oh he was going to but he had to discharge another patient . So in replacement they sent an inexperienced student who didn’t even know my child history or did he take the time to ask. Sentara needs a child hospital because CHKD isn’t it !

Once getting into the ER they helped us immediately to help our needs and to help the child get better. After being admitted the staff, doctors, and nurses are all so friendly and good at what they do. Your room gets cleaned daily. The food is pretty decent for the kids and they give them options. They are good at night with being so quite and keeping the kids asleep. If your little one is ever in need of a ER visit, doctor appointment, or being admitted this is the place to be. You can put all of your trust in the doctors and nurses. They are very good about listing to to the parents to help come up with the best treatments.
