We were at the norfolk chkd hospital for Mir not in the main hospital
$1,200 for an ER visit NOT overnight and flu test?!
We would like to put in a good word for Nicole Oakley a nurse in the surgery section of CHKD. Nicole was very personable, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We were very pleased with the service she provided for our daughter. Thank You.
What a positive experience. My grandson was having a procedure done and the nurses were incredible. They explained every single step to him to make him comfortable. I was truly impressed with the entire process. They were extremely caring towards his every needs.
Laura in GI needs her checks raised by a grand bare minimum. She was my sons biggest advocate and helped me fight insurance for the medication he needed. I will never forget the help and compassion she showed me during a time of desperation.
There are two factors that contributed to a two star ranking - the nurses and the specialty doctors. They are the only people here that don't meet the pathetic standards and definition of American Healthcare. My daughter requires monthly infusions and we have to travel an hour one way to make it. It doesn't matter if we are an hour early or 20 mins late, either way you are guaranteed that the pharmacy will take its sweet time prepping medication. I shouldn't show up for a 2pm appointment and at 3pm the medication finally makes it way in. I hope the pharmacy gets this review so they can understand how incompetent they are.
This use to be a nice hospital with caring physicians …. Priscillia the charge nurse was very rude . No passion I really hope that someone look into how she treated me when I called .. made me cry I’m already dealing with a sick child
13 yrs ago I allowed my mother to babysit my daughter...& She was on the ambulance the same day... I went to the hospital when I got there I found my daughter and she had wires and so many plugs all over her & instead of the nurses speaking to me & asking what happened... they stared at me and told me to go to the lobby and wouldn't tell me anything then turned around and called a social worker....the social worker threatened to call the police..and the hospital released my daughter in my mothers custody... What's crazy is I had just got out of foster care and my mom was supposed to help me but instead drugged my daughter in my custody and the hospital this one precisely didn't care about the well being of the childs mother... 🙄🤬🤬🤬😤😤😤
They saved my life bk in 2013, WILL get you the care you need!!!
We had come here for a daughter's eye muscle surgery. They were extremely accommodating even though it was our first time here. When we did park though the ticketing system was not working, so we could not get a ticket to written off by the front desk. The front desk was able to provide something to use though. The weird part was that no one even check my ticket when I left the garage. We had a pleasant time checking in with admin and getting our tags. After that we went to a room and got checked in by a nurse, at that point we met with the doctor again, the lead nurse, and the anesthesiologist. They also let my daughter pick her flavor of gas. All of the nurses and staff were great there, and the after care was great also. We were rushed out even though it was the Friday before Christmas. The nurse made sure we were all set and knew what to do if we had any issues.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
