Good Luck- NO FOLLOW-UP! Staff overworked and it shows in long waits in office or on phone to make appointments or get answers, never return calls after several attempts to get through to someone, no one seems to care or be on the same page. The Dr's are great feel guilty writing this but THINGS HAVE CHANGED FROM YEARS AGO.
Waited more than an hour to have blood taken. This is not the first time appointments were WAY late. Office needs better management. No excuse for such LONG waits in the reception room. Dr. Skees, please fix the problem! Ultimately the buck stops at your desk.
Knowledgeable, patient, thorough, and listens. An amazing doctor who cares about your health.
Dr. Skees is professional and knowledgeable. When he is with you, he is focused solely on you.
I have been a loyal patient for decades but I never really needed serious help until recently. The help wasn’t available. I was sorta told “too bad”. I guess I’ll get medical help from YouTube.
One of the most knowledgeable and attentive doctors I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know. Yes, you may have to wait a little while to see him, but that is because when you are in the room with him, his focus is solely on you and your needs. He is most definitely worth the wait.
I have been seeing Dr. Skees and Miriam for 26 years. I could ask for a better team. When my insurance changed i could see them. Then i a piece of poop pcp who ignored all my warning signs i ended up in the hospital for 11 days and got some answers the dr who treated me in the ER said to follow up with my PCP but he was a quack. I Immediately called Drs Skees office before i got release form the hospital. He is great takes care of my labs stays on top on my meds. He treats my husband and me like family i wish i could give them a thousand stars
Run as fast as you can to another practice. My husband and I have been treated horribly here. It three weeks to get a prescription filled. I literally had to go to the office and demand that it be done while I waited. I made an appointment with NP via zoom because of COVID like symptoms and she never showed, texted, or emailed. I know I had Strep all I needed was a script for Amoxicillin. They ...
Mark Skees is well known in Norfolk and is like the old-timey family doctor who listens, doesn’t rush, and treats you like an individual not a number. I trust him and his staff and have been a patient for many years. It takes a while to get something elective like a physical scheduled, but if you have a more urgent need they can get you in pretty soon.
I was beyond impressed with my experience at Skees Family Medical. My first contact was over the phone and then with the front desk staff. I was completely blown away at how helpful, personable and kind everyone was and how quickly I was seen. A lot of doctors don’t realize the importance of a strong staff. The first point of contact is crucial! Now onto the appointment… my visit ran on time, Dr Skees is well versed and incredibly knowledgeable in his field. I felt comfortable throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this medical group!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
