Ballad Health's Online Review Report Card

Someone needs to put the doctor on check how he treats people but then deflects like he didnt do anything with his exaggerated looks of disgust and eye rolling. My child just had a pelvic exam and to distract herself she was watching a video and he tries acting like she was filming him even after I tried reassuring him she did not kept talking in the hallway too .I dont care what I look like youre NOT gonna treat us differently or talk look down at us

Some of the staff was very polite and friendly. But just like with other hospitals now a day a certain age range comes in or if you look a certain way they automatically assume your there for one thing and one thing only and thats what makes some people not want to return if things arent going so well. On this visit they literally had three people my age range on one side of the ER dept and put older and younger ranged patients on the other side. It is not the first time this hospital nor another one of Ballad Healths Facilities has made myself or someone I know feel as if we were being judged because of others mistakes. Luckily for me when my urinalysis came back attitudes changed but its still unacceptable behavior. Other then that the hospital is clean otherwise friendly and on this day they became busy and had a sad outcome while I was there and for that I am sorry to the staff especially my nurse and doctor who did not have to apologize for taking long but did apologize. I am understanding and when things such as what happened happen that becomes a priority in my book. I am glad they knew to act fast and were ready for action when they needed to be. So on that part kudos to the staff of NCH.

My husband was hospitalized for 4 days nursing staff was great dr shelly couches was a complete disaster she had a pick line put in my husbands arm to get antibiotics through for 3 days after he came home antibiotics that he could have taken by mouth we had to go to the er 3 days straight and now we have to find someone else to take it out she needs to go back to medical school

I went in with a black widow spider bite it was in my shoe it bit me on my right big toe and again on my right index finger because I thought I had just been stuck by something and was dumb enough to stick my hand in the shoe to see what had stuck me. Well anyhow I started having stomach cramps and cramps in my back and nausea I saw a nurse practitioner not even a doctor she said it couldn’t have been a black widow because they bite once and retreat she pretty much said I was lying without even asking where the spider was when it bit me. Well anyhow she treated me terribly like I was a drug addicted or something I was a police officer for 15 yrs she sent me home with a anti biotic and not even anything for nausea. I went home and spent the next 10 hrs pucking my guts out and with the worst muscle cramps you could think of. I really thought I was going to have to go to another hospital. This nurse assumed I was drug seeking without knowing the whole story. Terrible experience

I was rushed to NCH in December when I was sick with covid because my husband came to check on me when he woke up that morning and my lips and fingers were blue. My sats were in the 40s. This hospital saved me. They kept my husband informed of everything that was happening and he talked to the ER doctor several times. I was so sick it took over 2 hours to get me stable enough to move me to pikeville so they definitely know what they are doing here. I couldn’t of asked for better doctors and nurses. They literally saved my life that day.

This is the worst hospital anyone could possibly be in. The Dr did no test on my mom. My dad and I stayed with my mom because the nurses wouldnt help her. They were so rude to all of us so my mom checked herself out last night and going to see her dr in abingdon Monday. The only reason she was there was because Buchanan General didnt have a bed and one of the Drs at the hospital is from Norton and he knows they dont get much business so they sent her there. The security guard needs fired hes the most rude person ever. We stayed 2 nights and my dad said he walked down the hall and there was not another patient there. They got mad at him for walking out in the hall and told him he couldnt stay there. This hospital needs shut down. Just read the reviews.

I would rate zero stars if I could. I came to this hospital complaining of severe nausea not being able to hold any food down and right side pain. I was sent here from the Urgent Care down the road and I was treated like a joke here. They never took my blood or anything just sent me home with “anxiety”. The doctor who I spoke to I don’t know his name because he didn’t introduce himself didn’t even wear his mask over his nose. Several other staff members didn’t wear their masks correctly either. Also I have been waiting almost an hour to be discharged and it is not busy right now. It’s basically silent throughout the floor other than some nurses who keep singing to each other and laughing real professional. This hospital has been useless and just a waste of time. Just drive the extra hour to Bristol. You’ll save time in the end.

My son was in Norton Community for double pneumonia and very high blood sugar. A intern came in and told him you can’t die from complications of diabetes. At that time my sons level was over 500. And I feel he needed to stay . .longer. So they sent him home with his double pneumonia he was just as sick as was when he went in. They discharged him and we wait 5 hours for a tank of oxygen before we could leave .with no nursing care because he had been discharged. I will never use this hospital again.

Daughter scheduled for ultrasound and was told at registration that she was not on the schedule. Had to wait over 45 minutes to be told that she was indeed on the schedule. Hospital needs to hire competent individuals who know how to work a computer.
