List of Alfreda Jones's Reviews
No care. Way too much talking about non-related personal stories she had. 6 hours late. Very kind words but no medical care or substance behind it
I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but I have to in this circumstance. I am a military spouse and was new to the area. I saw all of the amazing reviews for Dr. Jones, and thought I had found the perfect OBGYN to deliver my 3rd child. There were warning signs from the beginning, but I ignored them and told myself that no one was going to be perfect. The first warning - I had a high risk delivery with my first son and I asked to transfer my medical records and was told it wasn’t necessary. I developed gestational diabetes and anemia in this pregnancy (my first time having either) She did not bring up either at the follow-up appointments. I had to remind her of being diagnosed with those, otherwise no information would have been given to me about either. The worst experience with Dr. Jones was the labor, a 41 hour labor that ended in a C-section. Which did not seem necessary. With better care and service, might not have ended the same way. I was induced early bc of the gestational diabetes 2 days before I was 39 weeks. Dr. Jones was not at the hospital (Inova Fairfax) for almost 24 hours after my husband and I arrived. I was there with the nurses (who were amazing). I spent most of my time waiting at the hospital walking around the labor and delivery center (doing the only thing I could do on my own to induce labor). I missed many meals because of how long I had to wait without her being there, with Anemia and GD it put a lot of strain on my already weak body. Dr. jones kept saying she would be there and then hours would go by and the nurses would tell me they hadn’t heard from her. When she finally arrived, I saw her as I was walking in the halls. She seemed exhausted and did not recognize me at all. It was quite alarming, as I was getting prepared to have a baby with her. She did not apologize or even acknowledge how long we had to wait for her to get there to start the induction. At 3am the next day, my husband and I decided to change doctors. One of the nurses at Inova Fairfax suggested one of the doctors on the hospital staff. Immediately I started getting different care. I saw the new doctor by 5am. She reviewed previous medical history with my first two pregnancies, started doing different forms of induction, and I started to dilate. By the time things started to get going, my body was just completely worn out. I ended up having a c-section. My first in 3 pregnancies. I would recommend if anyone starts to get similar care from Dr. jones to start finding a new doctor. Not every doctor is for every person! I found that out the hard way.
Horrible birth experience! She said that my wife was the reason for diabetes in America. Felt that she was far too busy for us and was 6 hours late when my wife was already admitted in the hospital waiting to give birth. We ended up firing her due to her lack of care for my wife a couple hours before birth while in the hospital. The on duty OB ended up delivering our son. I’m sure she is qualified in her job, but had an absolute horrible experience working with her.
Excellent, caring, professional and smart. A really great doctor who seems to actually care about her patients and their needs.
Oh my god! Dr jones is goddess for a doctor! No wonder she is so busy. If you are lucky enough to actually get her as your obgyn, then consider you have just earned a doc-therapist-calming- friend combination ! I saw people talking about longer wait times that’s coz she doesn’t rush patients she patiently answers all your questions. And her knowledge and patience is best I ever saw! And believe me I changed multiple obgyns because I was moving due to work but Boston had the best health care and the only next to I found in Virginia was dr jones (very surprised) and team! I tried dr supriya verma (who always has space to fit you in coz she rushes all her patients sometimes yelling to get you out of way) in Virginia as well but dear god it took me less than one month to run away to Dr. Jones! Your choice of OBGYN is imp because it’s one less stress to eliminate on top of pregnancy body changes! For now crazy happy that I got in and relaxed that a calmer and more responsible empathetic doctor is going to deliver my kid!
I had my first appointment with Dr. Jones and I loved her. She was professional but made you feel very comfortable and answered all my questions. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend
I would never recommend Dr Jones to anyone. I went to her practice twice. First time was a disaster and the nurse practitioner was not experienced and her lack of knowledge was very concerning. I would not have gone back except I learned there was a 6 month wait for new patients at this time. I only went back if I didn't see the nurse practitioner again so I got Dr Jones. She was 30 minutes late, didn't seem to care when I shared my first experience with her practice was so negative (she didn't ask any questions) and my IUD was embedded and she pulled it so hard to get it out of me. It hurt so bad and I read after the appointment that this was not the appropriate way to remove it. As I said, I would have never gone back but I didn't feel I had a choice to timely address a concern that was brought to my attention with my IUD that they put in. The staff at the front desk are great but other than that, take more time to find someone else to go to.
Another great annual visit! Dr. Jones and her staff got me in and out in a timely manner. Dr. Jones, as always, provided the information and guidance I needed regarding a test result that required further investigation. She made me feel a lot better about what to expect and what I needed to do to be prepared in the future should further action be required. I always feel safe, heard and treated with genuine care and concern by this practice. Thank you Dr. Jones and the entire All About Women team!
I love this office. They are always so glad to see you. Plan on being there two hours and you won't be irritated. Ive been a long time patient and she is worth the wait
Dr. Silva has fantastic bedside manner. I am so pleased that she is taking care of my 14 year old daughter.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
