List of Camilla C. Hersh's Reviews
Not sure how this woman has any positive reviews. My experience with her was horrible - I came in because I was having trouble with my periods. She told me my only option was hormonal birth control, which I had expressed I was very hesitant to take given the really bad experiences I had had with hormonal thyroid medications I was wrongfully prescribed. She made me visibly cry in front of her as she proceeded to roll her eyes and tell me this was the "only option for me" unless I wanted to be "miserable for the rest of my life." Talked down to me the entire time - NOT the kind of doctor who clearly cares about her patients. Ultimately I decided to try to the medication, and after 5 months I've never had worse acne in my life, the EXACT thing I had warned her caused so many issues for me with past thyroid medications. Waste of my time, energy, and money. Find a new doctor.
Absolutely disgusted by her unprofessional behavior
Extremely disrespectful and callous to her patients.
Absolute nightmare experience. I wasn’t put in a room until an hour and 15 minutes after my appointment time and she asked me totally inappropriate questions. I will be reporting her beyond unprofessional behavior to my insurance provider.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hersh and her team! From the front office, nurses and all the Doctors, I have never had such a wonderful experience. Everyone on the team is patient, caring and takes the time to listen and explain. Dr. Hersh has on numerous occasions provided her undivided attention and time to walk me through my options. She carefully explained the details of any and all procedures I was considering, listened to all of my questions without making me feel rushed at any point. Her knowledge and experience is expansive and I was appreciative of her sharing the details with me. After being dismissed by a previous OBGYN I was relieved to find a team that took a genuine interest in my health and being proactive in supporting me through decisions on my care. I am forever grateful to have found such a caring team and one that patiently answers my many questions. Thank you!!
I saw Dr. Hersh a month ago. Dr. Hersh told me no when I asked for sterilization and when I became upset to the point of tears, she continued to tout her arguments as to why she wouldn't do the surgery while I was naked and crying and trying to remain calm. She never asked me if I was okay or needed a break. At the end of the visit when I rejected her suggestion of other birth controls, she told me, "It's not just me who won't do this. No doctor will do this for you." I am writing today in recovery from the very surgery that "no doctor will do." Other people should be protected form the kind of pain she is capable of causing.
If I could leave a review with 0 stars, I would. In our annual check up, and also first meeting, I expressed to her that I was looking for permanent sterilization. Dr. Hersh interrupted my explanation for this desire to tell me no, she would not. When I asked for a referral to a surgeon who could, she told me, "I can do it, but I won't. No doctor will due to your age." At this point, I became upset and began to silently cry as she proceeded to carry on with the annual exam (including the surprise rectal exam other negative reviews have mentioned here). I was silently crying for the remainder of the appointment and not once did Dr. Hersh ask about my well being or if I needed a break. Instead, here are some of the things she said to me during the rest of my papsmear and breast exam after her initial rejection. "You're too young." "You'll change your mind." (I am 28 and tried to explain I wanted this for the better part of a decade, but she continuously interrupted me). "I don't do that until someone past the reasonable age of wanting kids." "Tell your husband to get a vasectomy because he's old enough." "Your fertility is valuable." The visit ended with me politely rejecting her pushes for me to explore other birth control options, still crying as I did so. Instead of accepting this or asking about my well being, Dr. Hersh told me "It's not just me that won't do this. No doctor will do this for you." & then she walked out. It took me over 3 hours to deescalate from the panic attack afterward. I cannot understate how disturbing this behavior is to treat someone with so little compassion when they are being so vulnerable. All this to say, I got scheduled for a bilateral salpingectomy the very next week. I am writing this review from the comfort of my home in recovery from said surgery with a doctor who actually gave me compassion, respect, & supported my bodily autonomy.

The best Gynecologist I have ever been too. Dr. Hersh is very knowledgeable, compassionate, caring. She takes her time listens, unlike my previous Gynocolgy office where the visit was less than 10-15 minute max. Thank you Dr. Hersh!!!
Dr. Hersh is very knowledgeable about some things, but lacking in others. I went into menopause early at 38, as I had chemotherapy a year prior. Dr. Hersh said that I would just have to deal with the symptoms of menopause and there was no further discussion. Luckily another doctor found out about this and was surprised/annoyed. They referred me to another doctor, who is further away, but is the top in the DC area/nation and helped me with my menopausal symptoms.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
