Receptionist called me 15 minutes before my appointment to tell me I had missed it and needed to reschedule. I was literally 5 minutes away and told her this, but she insisted I needed to be there 15 minutes prior since I was a new patient. I pointed out that I had been seen by Dr. Master I’m in 2020 but she said I would be considered a new patient. She was rude and had a nasty tone of voice. There are plenty of podiatrists in Nova that will treat you right. Not here.
Dr.Masternick is a good doctor. But the office staff is pretty rude and they don’t follow through the insurance. They will ask you to sign forms to pay everything in full without correctly billing with insurance. They don’t answer phone calls from insurance . They will not cooperate with them to resolve the issues. They will ask you to pay everything in full . I would not recommend dealing with this office .
Dr. Masternick provides outstanding care. He explains options. He is very experienced in handling minor and more complex problems. I rarely get nervous at any medical appointment, however I had a horrible experience in the past with two podiatrists in different practices. I am relieved to have found Dr. Masternick.
Dr. Masternick has a great bedside manner. He listens and gives options. I felt he was concerned about what was best for me and my feet. He is an asset to the Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic practice.
fully trusted his expertise , but I gained an ugly foot after the bunion surgery . He did an awful job closing the incision area , scar is so bad , I had so much pain around and under the scar , my foot was swollen like a pillow for a long time , many many times cried and saddened by the look of my foot . I guess one of the huge reason ladies tend to do the surgery for bunion is the improve the look of it , not doubling the ugliness . He needs to master on closing the incision and be more humble to accept to learn it . Scars are ugly and also cause lots of pain and they are on some one body for rest of their lives due to not caring from their trusted doctor .
Dr. Masternick is the best! He treated my husband's foot so well that I was encouraged to trust him with mine. During the whole process, he listened to my concerns, and provided me with the best approach to solve my feet problems. Now I can walk almost pain free. Highly recommend this doctor!
My new patient experience was Horrible. Once in the exam room I was advised the Dr. would be in shortly, I waited an extended amount of time and finally with concern I left the exam room and headed to the Front Desk prior to leaving the exam area I expressed my wait time concern and the person did not offer to check the status of the Dr. being able to see me. He seemed very accepting of me leaving. I also explained everything to the young lady at the front desk who had checked me in on arrival she too did not seem to care or offer to help by checking to see the status of the Dr. I am disappointed and feel there may have been other factors at play as it pertained to me as a patient….. They also made no effort to address my experience/concern…no subsequent outreach…. I plan to pursue my experience further with other health care entities. I would NOT recommend this practice to anyone that I know. Customer service should be paramount especially as pertains to health care providers.
I could not be more pleased with the thorough care I received from Dr. Masternick and the entire staff through my foot surgery. I’m so happy with the results and Dr. Masternick’s laid back approach was a plus for me.
Another problem with my left foot again. Made appointment with Dr. M. And after few visit he finally found the root of the problem and took care of Thank you Dr. MASTERNICK
I don't recommend Dr. Erik Masternick for bunion surgeries. I had an unpleasant experience and have been having pain and discomfort for a year and three months now. I got multiple other opinions from other surgeons who have told me that I have to redo the surgery because my bones were fused together more elevated than they should have been. I must redo the surgery to fix the error. Also, he uses an older method that produces larger scaring.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
