I love the treatment I have with Dr. Wittenberg. Without her care my life would be very hard. Thanks Doctor!
I can't even begin to explain how amazing they are. They CARE!!! That is so rare in today's world, especially in pain treatment! I see Deb Nelson, and she is just the most wonderful and sweet provider I have ever met, but this whole practice is great and I can't recommend it enough. I have never even felt so much as a shred of a shadow of stigma or callousness here. I'll be in PM for life and I hope to stay with them for the rest of my life. I have a very rare condition with complex needs; they have been extremely understanding and helpful. I think Deb deserves the world. She's truly a gift to us all and a shining light in the darkest moments. Even aside from treatment, knowing how much she cares and that she's in my corner is a huge plus to my mental state and helps keep me motivated to live my life despite my setbacks. 100000% recommend. NSPC Reston will not let you down. ♥︎
I love this office. Staff is amazingly Doctor’s and nurses amazing. Dr.Whittenberg and Deb Nelson are the Very Best. I appreciate them both so much
My health care is a floundering mess since I was cut off from this practice even though I have been coming to this practice for over 20 years. They claim I am no longer a chronic pain patient, although not much has changed. While I will be forever grateful to Deborah Nelson, I am not appreciative of being cut off from the practice. One medication I am on is specifically for managing chronic pain. The other medications indeed might be out of the scope of National Spine and Pain Center, but now they are taking the road that both are. Going to a new NP or general doctor with over 20 years of your history who does not understand you as a patient the way the Deborah Nelson does, it is scary but it comes more of a nightmare when the one you have tried has consistently screwed up your medication and won't respond to Aetna. But in short, with current changes of this practice, they have screwed up my health care and made my life on the health forefront a living hell. Not only that, I have a trigger finger and a leg problem and I thought rather than traveling a longer distance, which I did for Deborah Nelson, I might go to Shirlington but no NSPC holds the power over that and you have to get approved. What the hell, you people say I am not a pain patient and you are prescribing no pain medication so you can't be worried that type of medication is what I am after being I have not been after it for 20 years. Well Dr. Wiser, now the President of National Pain and Spine, well had I followed his advice for unnecessary surgery I would probably be crippled today. Nope did not need the surgery, just need one medication that Deb Nelson managed. Now Dr. Wiser, it is obvious that their goals have changed being they have hired an anesthesiologist for every office. The patient of 20 years needed 30 minute of Deborah's time twice a year is no longer worth National Spine and Pain Center's time. I can't say enough good about Deborah Nelson, she is just doing what her bosses tell her to do. She has done so much good for me, but now she can't see me and my health, including pain due to stress from it and trying to get the medical care I need, has increased my pain and anxiety levels. But that is okay, apparently I am not a pain patient or have pain any more, wish my body had gotten this memo. This practice can't see the forest for the trees and truly does not care about chronic pain patients that have been with them near 20 years because we are not big ticket surgeries because why else would you have anesthesiologists at every practice? Deb is a great NP, but I am disappointed in her that she did not fight harder for me and the result of that in my life but still grateful for all she has done over the years. First she could see me and monitor one prescription (but not the other), okay happy with that, then she could not do that next conversation. Maybe she did and was overridden. Deb is a caring person and medical provider so.... And I am kinda upset by all this, that a medication first prescribed by National Spine and Pain Center which has done more positive for pain management than all the other drugs they prescribed over procedures and other pain drugs which often made pain worse, well the one thing that worked is no longer pain management. And they are so inconsistent that the day I went there and was told by Dr. Brar that the medication I was on was not pain management, well the same night National Spine and Pain Center sent out an article about that very topic. Further I have test results that connect it to chronic pain, but no, still not pain management. Constant lack of sleep does correlate to increase in pain, but now that magic medication that lowered pain in me for years is no longer pain management. And let me tell you chronic stress makes pain worse. Deborah Nelson still gets a 5, she is caring until someone at this practice said she could no longer be that, but National Spine and Pain Center currently gets a zero from me. This is our care health care system at work.
The Reston location of National Spine and Pain Centers goes above and beyond for their patients. Deb Nelson PA., treats me like my opinion matters when it comes to my health. That the pain I experience is not in head. Deb truly cares for her patients. Dr. Brar is also awesome. He listens and provides information in a way that you can understand. The entire team tries all ways to alleviate pain, not just throwing pills at the problem. The nurses are kind and make you feel like you are the only patient they’ve seen all day. The front office and office manager are very competent and try their best to accommodate each request. As you can tell from this review I’m a loyal patient of this practice. I drive over an hour to get here even though there are closer locations to my house. I’ve been seeing these providers for about 4 yrs now. If you experience chronic pain and are your wits end, try Reston National Spine and Pain Center.
I had an unsuccessful epidural corticosteroid injection for sciatic nerve pain, which had to do with the configuration of my vertebra in relation to my particular disc's herniation, not the doctor's skill. Dr. Brar was extremely patient and supportive in a subsequent appointment, taking extra time to explain my particular spinal issue, and possible pain management solutions. I felt well cared for, and very impressed with his commitment to solving an individual pain problem.
They claimed pre authorization was all set but apparently it wasn’t. Out 640 dollars because they would not send paperwork to get pre authorization after multiple requests after the procedure even though the pre authorization company said they still could process it. Will never go again.
Deb Nelson is the best. I’ve been seeing her for years and I hope she never retires! Thank you Deb for all of your help, guidance and support. You are truly amazing. I highly recommend Ms. Nelson to anyone needing pain management. If I could give you 10 stars I would!!!
My total experience with National Spine it's wonderfull all the staff very helpful, hard working people, always trying too acomodate all patients as they can. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE RESTON LOCATION; awesome people and the last but not least; My favorite human being alive, Dr Brar smart, kind person, knowable in general medicine etc. He's by far the best there's. Thanks
The doctors and staff are great. Everyone is very attentive to your needs. The quality of care is great, the physicians when treating you are extremely careful on top of everything else. I highly recommend the practice, I’ve seen a significant improvement in my mobility since I started visiting the practice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
