List of Phong QUANG Nguyen's Reviews
Dr Nguyen is good doctor but his staff is horrible particularly Diana who was rude and uncaring. I’m having a gout attack and have 3 allopurinol pills left. She had no empathy and said they could not refill until they see me first and the earliest would be Jan 24 ….6 or 7 weeks away. and she said if I’m having an emergency go see my doctor or go emergency room. I just needed a refill!!!! So if you really need him forget it! He is really hard to see. Called my doctor who will see me right away and treat me the same day! Why do I need him then!
I had been going to this office for years. Staff turnover is a real problem here. The inhouse infusion staff has become rude and bullying. Dr. Nguyen ignores the problems with his staff. He doesn't care about patience.
I had two appointments with him. The first, I liked him. He wanted to try some meds and follow up. I had my follow up yesterday. My pain is the same, the meds didn't help. He said I should sleep more and stop the meds, nothing else he could do. I said you only ever treated my pain as RA, DO you treat other chronic pain? " oh yes, I have thousands of fibro patients. "Okay so how do I know if I have it?" He seemed confused by my question, squeezed my elbow and told me it would hurt if I have fibro. I said it hurt now what? He dismissed me and told me to follow up in 6 months. Follow up on what? He hasn't diagnosed me with anything. He hasn't TESTED me for anything. He's charged me $400 to do nothing. I can't open a bottle of juice for my kids but sure, this is fine. I can't get out of bed some days but OK, I'll just wait and see? I left that office sobbing yesterday. I will never set foot in this place again. I wanted help. I wanted a doctor who knew what might be going on and either find out or send me to someone who can. As it stands, my neurologist has done more to try to diagnose the conditions a rheumatologist should know about than Dr. Nguyen. If you are trying to find a diagnosis, this is NOT the place for you. He's not interested.
Love love love! Great doctor! Truly! I recommend all the time, the office people on the other hand are horrible.. but he is great!!
I have been a patient of Dr. Phong Nguyen for over twenty year. What a Phenomenal doctor he is in every aspect! His care for his patients is excellent. His knowledge in Rheumatology is over the top! I couldn’t imagine going to everyone else but Dr. Nguyen due to his knowledge and thoroughness! The best of the best. Thank you Dr. Nguyen!
Dr. Nguyen has been my primary care physician for almost 30 years. Not only does he give me excellent care, he constantly researches the latest practices and theories in the medical field. Additionally, his staff is very professional and competent. I highly recommend him.
Been a patient for over 30 years. He is the best doctor around. Very caring and thorough. Had a bad experience with a different doctor when I first found out I had RA. Switched to Dr. Nguyen and he got my swelling under control within 2 weeks. Very knowledgeable.
I've been seeing Dr Nguyen for a number of years. He has always been willing to take the time for questions and providing excellent treatments for any of my conditions.
Be very careful... Dr. Nguyen turns work over to an assistant (Lindsay Tom) who lacks enough experience to interact safely with patients. Lindsay prescribed me a medication that was dangerous, considering my history of radiation therapy. But when I requested a different medication, she LIED in a voicemail, saying that my insurance refused to cover the medication, but her office had NEVER CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY! When I called my insurance company, they offered to pay for the safer medication after "prior authorization" from the doctors. The insurance company called the doctors office and was told that I would need to self-pay through something called "Buy and Bill." It seems inappropriate and unethical to bypass a patient's insurance company for fast cash.
Dr. Nguyen is very personable and takes the time necessary to ask/answer questions, but he spends too much time socializing with patients. It was 30 minutes past the appt time that I was finally taken to an exam room, and was told by the nurse (with a sheepish look) that the dr liked to chat and would be in soon. I waited another 20 minutes and I could hear him making weekend-related chitchat with the patient in the next room. When he did finally show up in my exam room, he did not apologize or even acknowledge that he was late. He performed some tests and asked some questions, but surprisingly did not ask any family history questions, which would have been appropriate for the condition we were discussing. I had blood drawn before I left and was told I would have results in about a week. I waited a month to hear from him and ended up scheduling a followup with a different doctor to get the results.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
