Awesome! He is a good listener and provider of information in detail. Dr. Gentry has your best interest at heart!
I hate to leave bad reviews and I gave this team chance after chance to meet even the most minimal requirements but when it comes to your health, the lack of care I received here was unacceptable. I was navigating my first pregnancy I cannot tell you how unsupported I felt in this overwhelming, scary time. You often wait on hold for an eternity only to be sent to a voicemail box. Twice I was forgotten (or even worse not forgotten!) in an exam room around lunchtime for over half an hour without any explanation and no one was to be found ANYWHERE to let me know what was going on. After birth she was hard to track down and I didn't feel like she even knew who I was. I know drs are over worked and the support staff has a lot to do, but this is BY FAR over and over the worst medical experiences of my 40 year old life.
Three visits. Paid each time. No care. Dr. Gentry made it my fault she was not able to carry out the exam she told me she could perform. She was pleased; failure to carry out the exam meant I was not to worry -- she could later perform a hysterectomy-- for a lot more money. Mercenary.
Dr Gentry provided early cancer detection - thank you again for keeping me alive and thriving!!!Yes, the appointment schedulers are not the best; however, Dr Gentry is top shelf!!
Great Group, Great Physician. I think the key is, beyond his obvious competence, that he is just nice gentleman, and he gives a darn. Staff is top notch, too. Keeps me from missing his retired colleague as much (Dr Jon Palmatier) I still hate the colonoscopy prep, LOL.
Whether you're interacting with Dr Gentry or her staff you can expect the same complete lack of care and concern for their patients. There could not be a doctor or practice that is less suitable to support you before or after a pregnancy. Need prescription submitted to a pharmacy? Expect the staff to tell you one thing (if they actually pick up the phone or answer an email) but do nothing in the endNeed insurance paperwork submitted? Nope! Need Dr Gentry to show up at a reasonable time at the hospital? Ha! Need Dr Gentry to answer questions or provide any level of support? Good one!!
Why is it so hard to find African American physicians in Northern California? It shouldn't be this difficult, and the one I did find, Dr. Gentry, is average. I hate to say that because I understand how hard it is. Her staff makes it more complicated with her lack of efficiency, competency, and professionalism. If you can't run a tight ship in the front office, then the back office experience is probably going to be worse. I'm sure this isn't the first complaint, and it won't be the last. Why though?! Maybe she needs to get a whole new staff, and definitely new location. I wish her the best and hope things improve for her and her office.
Very kind and patient. Best bedside manner of any doctor I have ever met. Highly recommend! Skilled and just so impressed!
THE Absolute WORST service I've ever received from a doctors office in my life.Telling me that my original doctor was unavailable then switch me to another doctor only to then switch me to a nurse.Extremely unprofessional rescheduling my appointment twice did not make me aware to be to the appointment 15 minutes early and then denied to see me after I drove one hour and 15 minutes. Telling me that at 12:08 PM the nurse had already put someone else into my 12 o'clock slot.I tried to plead with the front desk person only for them to let me know that the nurse can't be late for her lunch.I am highly disappointed at how insensitive they were while knowing that my appointment was a follow up for my miscarriage. The front desk woman told me that my appointment was only for 30 minutes and that the nurse could not find the time to see me for 30 minutes. If this is the strict route that you're going to take at the very least make your patient aware give them a chance to follow through versus when they get there and their eight minutes late you tell them no thank you.I am now driving an hour and 15 minutes back home without clearance for work, without knowing if I have an infection without any doctor or nurse's assistance whatsoever. It's difficult finding an African-American doctor which is why I drove so far out and now to be treated like this I just wanna sit here and cry I'm so upset and disappointed.I will never step foot in this office again.
Literally the worst experience of my life. I called the office multiple times to make an appointment with DR Gentry. They wouldn't make an appointment with me until I was "accepted". I called multiple weeks in row they never knew who I was and had horrible phone etiquette. I received a call where a lady left a voicemail that I was accepted and needed to send over my records. I sent over my records and the front desk never got back to me. I called after my 8 week visit with my fertility clinic and they still had no clue who I was. I spoke to multiple people that seemed like they would be able to help me but in the end them to call me after 5pm to tell me I was not accepted because they were short-staffed. Literally the worst experience from a doctors office and a first-time pregnant mother to get help.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
