List of Children's Hospital Of Richmond At Vcu Children's Pavilion's Reviews
Unfortunately, it is not uncommon that the incompetence of these doctors cause extreme cases of medical misdiagnosis that harm children and their families. Anybody who takes their children here for help is at risk for medical malpractices, however if you are a minority and/or low income your chances are much higher. If you notice a medical emergency please take your children to St.Mary’s.
We had an appointment for February 15th, so today. We called them a couple days before asking when the time would be for my child’s surgery appointment to get his adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears. They never called me back then lied to me and my husband telling us they called us at 3pm yesterday. They never did. We had nothing in either of our call logs. They did something similar to this on Friday the 11th. They told us to drive all the way to Richmond. We live an hour away, To get our son tested for covid. They never turned the papers in to get him, so we drove up there to get him tested for no reason and wasted gas for NO REASON. I feel like they do not take what they do seriously. Not all of them just the people who schedule the appointments.
Not happy with the call center and one particular department within the system. I know there is COVID still complicating things. However when you opt to have your phone call returned oftentimes they will not do this. I stay on hold instead to make sure my call gets through. Today it will take approximately 42 minutes to wait. Nice. Also I have been struggling to get a sports medicine specialist to provide a script for my son to have new orthotics for his feet. He still has not done this. It has been close to a month since I made the first call. I have made multiple calls. I'm calling about this very same matter today. I will definitely be finding a new specialist to take care of my son's orthotic needs. Terrible.
Terrible experience i wouldn't trust this organization for service on a cat. They tried to mask me and my family at the stoney point location but yet didn't mask my son, who lives with me and breathes the same air as everyone in the room . The office manager was NOT wearing her mask when instructing me to wear one excusing herself for not wearing one because she was "just getting back from lunch " I guess germs don't transmit after eating lunch? smh... then, when wearing one because I asked why she wouldn't be wearing one but mandating I do she puts it on so her nose hangs out in the open air along with her co workers who weren't wearing masks properly and touching their faces after touching things and then touching their masks without sanitizing they canceled the appointment due to their own lack of understanding of how nature works like breating. whats the science behind this ignorance? I wouldn't trust an organization that forces parents to wear a mask that doesn't work and is proven to not work while allowing their Customer my child while I hold them to be unmasked breathing or possibly infecting or getting infected by their dirty air unsocial distanced office. if I can't trust your science on masking why on earth would I trust you for urology? your ignorance cost you financially but before I showed up your office had a 2.5 star review on Google so I should have trusted myself instead of the recommendation of a friend I know better now.
It took almost a week to get over the anger, disappointment, and heartache from the experience we had at this hospital last week. My nephew had his FIRST appointment with them, we got there early with my sister and brother-in-law. As I went with them since I'm myself a cancer survivor. From the time we stepped foot in the hospital, it was an overwhelming, scary experience. The doctor came in and she was good, went over the road map which took about no more than 30 min. After that came in the rudest nurse with no bedside manner, and we could even hear talk about us to another nurse outside our door...in a negative way. Just to get 2 blood samples took over 4 hours, with no updates or explanations! Then we were guided to the garage the back way with my nephew's ivy hanging from his arm. Didn't realize after getting that type of news we would have to carry all of our belongings drive to the other building with construction and my sister being very overwhelmed, of course, we got lost, once we arrived there the front lady didn't know we were supposed come, instead of saying "WELCOME let me check on that" seeing my nephew had his ivy hanging from his arm (which how in the world is this medically hygienical) finally we're told go up to the 7th floor...we walk there carrying all of our bags (since we thought we would stay for couple days). arrive there and there's not a soul in sight to welcome us and guide us to our room. we get to our room which I'm sorry I know it's an older building but we could see spots - stains in the wall and ceiling...which seem like blood but didn't want to look anymore. We wait 10-15 min call the nurse a nurse comes in and tells us someone will be with us soon. At NO POINT they did check on my nephew no name tag on his wrist no sense of urgency or care that his ivy is hanging from his arm. We keep waiting the nurse comes in and says she was in lunch....and will settle in and come back to us. She comes back finally puts the wristband with the name on him, then doctors come in and by then we are just in shock and survival mode making sure my nephew is ok which clearly is not. He had a pet scan scheduled and we were worried that it would be delayed and get postponed because no one knew what in the world was going on. We get on the phone with INOVA Fairfax Children's Hospital, my sister is sobbing and completely overwhelmed. She pleaded to have my nephew transferred there. They calm her down and tell her they'll take care of everything. In the hour we were in the pet scan INOVA Fairfax Children's Hospital took care of it all. Called the doctor personally, requested a transcript of medical records, got my nephew a room all in an hour. We get back and the doctor comes in and tells us this, and asked if this is what we wanted to do...at this point, it's 5:30 pm, we had been up since 6 am to make it to the appointment on time. No one ate, no one had a cup of water. Nothing...of course we say yes, the nurse comes in says "oh there's no transportation so you can just leave"...I tell her "aren't you going to take his ivy out?" she does and we RAN I mean literally ran out of the building waited for our ride two blocks away from the hospital and our nightmare well my sister's nightmare ended and was properly welcomed at INOVA Children's Hospital the way someone who just got diagnosed with Cancer and grieving, a shocked family should be received and guided and more importantly treated. Welcomed my nephew with care and attention. After all this, we finally broke down and cried after the nightmare we had experienced at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU & Children's Pavilion. We don't need a red carpet, but at least some guidance and communication in this hard time. I would NEVER go back, NO ONE from my family will ever go back there and I would never recommend this facility to anyone. To treat a family with a child who just found he has cancer and had his world turn upside down, without compassion, professionalism it's just unacceptable.
We had our first appointment with the child psychiatric department and it was such a great experience. The staff was so nice and efficient. The whole check in and out process was streamlined. Our doctor was very knowledgeable and thorough. He made the whole experience comfortable for my daughter. Definitely glad we were referred To VCU!
My 2 month old baby had her left heel skinned by the tall male phlebotomist. He was irritated that I wouldn't allow him to draw blood from her arm this time around. The last time he tried to do so 2 times and failed claiming that's where it's best to do so, but he was wrong. With a infant under 20lbs or so you have to draw it from the heels regardless. She was screaming in pain for over 30 minutes of him trying to get it from her arm and then had to go with her heel. This time he was still trying to get it from her arm and pressing on it like he was determined to find a spot. I kept refusing for him not to do so because her arms are still so tiny and she is under weight. He got aggressive and wasn't friendly afterwards when he did her heels. I didnt see the area until we got home to put a new bandage on it and saw a big chuck of skin missing. We took pictures to make sure to file a complaint and also show her Dr the next visit to make sure he doesn't touch my baby again. If you need blood work done for your infant avoid the tall male phlebotomist on the sky zone floor.
take my grandson there. They are commited to getting to the bottom of whats wrong .NOW my grandson has a new advacate to fight for his rights in school, they are awesome.Thank you for your caring & dedication
i brought my infant son here for a lengthy kidney surgery. i came in a nervous wreck and my baby was highly upset as well. the doctors and nurses immediately calmed us both down and were extremely professional in a knowledgeable way. we were in great hands and they were miracles. these guys are a god send.
MRI was terrible. They were off schedule and rude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
