Dr. Delisio demonstrates three outstanding characteristics. First, he is competent in discovery, treatment, and teaching patients. He is thoughtful and careful to be realistic giving patients a clear path to the treatment and potential impacts of prescribed drugs and treatment. He is also knowledgeable on topics that will surely stimulate patients to have confidence in him. Lastly, seeks means to help support patients who may have special needs.

Dr. John Delisio has been my urologist for a number of years. He is friendly, personable and approachable. He listens to my concerns and takes time to review lab or other test results, explain treatment options and recommendations. He has proven to be very knowledgeable, capable and competent demonstrated by the care I have received. He has taken my feedback into consideration in the approach to my particular problems and has been flexible making adjustments as needed. Overall, I trust him and have faith I am getting the proper treatment given my unique situation. He has my highest recommendation and I want to thank him and wish him well.

Extremely approachable, thoroughly helpful and genuinely concerned about his patients. Helps you get through embarrassing discussions and is a very good practitioner of his chosen profession. Highly recommend him to anyone.

When I first came into Virginia Urology, staff members provided “unsolicited compliments†about his kindness and thoroughness. From my experience, this is not that common and is a telling sign of an excellent doctor. They were right. He always does his homework before he steps in the room to talk to you. Even with short notice the homework is done (e.g. I’d point out an emergency room finding occurring 12 hours ago and he was already on it). A second major strength is his ability to very thoroughly, but quite succinctly, diagnose and spell out treatment (next steps and possibilities, downsides/upsides, progression of a condition, etc.). You will never leave the room trying to interpret what was said at home, after the fact. Third, he indeed demonstrates great compassion sprinkled with calming and appropriate humor. A First class physician; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
