Neil J. Zemmel's Online Review Report Card

I had my consult with Dr. Zemmel in January, and immediately knew I wanted him to be my surgeon. He was patient, answered all of my questions and my husband’s questions, and made me feel comfortable (as comfortable as one can be with no top on talking to strangers about their breasts). I had additional questions after my consult and emailed them to the staff, who quickly got me the answers. Just LOOK at the before and after pictures! I had my recommended full breast lift with augmentation late February. My surgery was the first by Dr. Zemmel’s team in the Medarva surgery center, but it didn’t show! The whole team was professional, helpful, and took great care of me. The anesthesiologist there was absolutely fantastic - he explained everything in detail, with a little humor to calm my nerves, and even made some tweaks to the plan so I wouldn’t have any nausea or vomiting. At 2 weeks post op, my incisions are healing and I have turned a corner in my recovery. My breasts look better than I could have hoped for, even this early! I couldn’t be happier with them and know they will only look better with more time to heal. My only suggestion for improvement would be for the team to put together some “Do’s and Don’ts” for after lift/augmentation, or more comprehensive recovery timeline to manage patient expectations. I thought I would be back to routine housework and light activities at week 1, but it was closer to week 2. I couldn’t move my arms above my shoulders until week 2, much less drive a car without having a pulling sensation on my internal incisions. My discharge instructions said to sleep elevated for 3 days, but now I know it should have been longer. Having those details ahead of time would’ve let me know I would need help with my kids from family for an extra week while I recovered.

Dr. Zemmel took his time to understand my goals and talk through all options/ recommendations with me in a way that made me feel really comfortable proceeding. His team is incredibly friendly, inviting and I truly feel like they care. The quality of his work speaks for itself and their office overall has really exceeded my expectations! Highly recommend!

I don’t usually write reviews, but if something/someone really exceeds my expectations, I will. Dr. Zemmel and his team are the best! I was really nervous to have surgery and I had a lot of questions. Dr. Z took great care of me, and Alicia and Kerri were so kind, reassuring, and informative. They really put me at ease (I tried to refrain from hugging them at my appointments, haha)! My experiences from my first consultation, to surgery, to my post op appointments were A+ all the way. I’m so happy with my results! I really can’t say enough about how amazing Dr. Zemmel and everyone at RAS are.

I got my Top Surgery (double mastectomy, w/ nipple grafts) done by Dr. Zemmel. From the start, I felt welcomed, encouraged, and respected. He did a great job, and my chest is looking fantastic! (1st picture shown is 6 days post op, so lots of healing to go, but looking great! Edit: 2nd pic is 3+1/2 weeks!) He and his staff have made my experience extremely easy and comfortable. The staff at the hospital, along with at RAS working with him, have all treated me wonderfully and with respect. Everyone has answered every little question I had, and even answered the phone after hours to answer an additional questions/concern I had after surgery. Very professional! I would definitely recommend him!

I had the best experience with Dr. Zemmel and his staff. They are friendly, knowledgeable and comforting with anything you might need. I had 3 other consultations scheduled but after I met with him, I canceled them and booked my next appointment. My recovery has been great with very minimal pain. All my follow up appointments were already scheduled and they made sure I had everything I needed. If I need to talk to anyone before that then they’re easy to get into contact with. It is really important to have a doctor you can trust and you know has your best interest at heart. Dr. Zemmel and his team are just that!

Hands Down! The Best Doctor in VA! Dr. Neil Zemmel, performed a tummy tuck on me after getting a BBL done at VCU Plastic Surgeons. Baby, when I tell you he pieced me back together as if I had never been cut! ❤️ OMG! I couldn’t believe the results! I most certainly expected to have a horrible cut from hip to hip (as I see so many of my friends with and others that have had a tummy tuck).But I didn’t! I couldn’t even tell that I had been cut. This handsome, genius was heaven sent! Oh, and shall I not forget his awesome bed side manners before and after I went under. This Doctor most certainly should be working with the stars and celebrities in Hollywood. As for me, I received Hollywood treatment in VA! Thanks so much Dr. Zemmel. I really appreciate you and so do my husband. 😂 Every chance I get I tell all my friends and customers about you! ❤️❤️❤️ Lastly, when I go to water parks such as Water Country other women compliment me all the time, saying how good I look and they ask where did I go. I can’t enjoy the park in piece because I get stopped so much. Again! Thank You So Much!

I had a breast reduction surgery with Dr. Zemmel on January 5th 2023. Words can't express how happy I am with my results! They are PERFECT! Dr Zemmel made me feel so comfortable about the whole process as he explained everything in great detail answering every question that I had written down to ask him without even having to ask! If you are looking for a plastic surgeon, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Zemmel. Very friendly, and he takes time to answer any questions to make sure his patients have a clear understanding on procedure and feels comfortable. Couldn't be any more happy and satisfied with my results!

Dr. Zemmel and the entire Richmond Asthetic Surgery team are awesome! After consulting with other doctors I knew I needed to look no further once I met with Dr. Zemmel. He listened to my concerns, and helped me make the best decisions to reach my goals. I had a tummy tuck a week ago and already feel so much more confident about my appearance and am sure it will only get better. Next up will be a thigh lift which I am looking forward to. It’s such a confidence booster to feel so good about my appearance after completing my weight loss journey.

Dr. Zemmel is knowledgeable, informative, careful and he truly cares. He treated me with respect and kindness with a small dose of humor. I will definitely be going back!

Fabulous surgeon and amazing staff. They truly care for their patients and want only the best for you. I could not recommend a better doctor that Dr. Zemmel. He truly cares about every patient and it shows. You won’t be disappointed if you go this facility!
