List of Zachary M. Shook's Reviews
Dr. Shook is a very good doctor that’s listens to me as a patient. He encouraged me to have a bum shoulder repaired that had been tormenting me for years. I’m now sitting here typing this review with zero pain!
Shook dismissed my symptoms as "anxiety" and "stress" when I told him repeatedly I was not anxious. He then accused me of doing ill3gal drugs (never done drugs in my life). He did not run any tests or ask me any questions, even though I was experiencing the worst symptoms i've ever experienced for an extended amount of time (4 months). Had severe insomnia, palpitations, shortness of breathe, chest pain, episodes of high heart rate, numbness in my arms, feeling faint upon exercise, weakness, joint pain, chills, and muscle pain. Shook told me to "seek counseling". Ended up going to another doctor and was diagnosed with long haul COVID dysautonomia.
I
First visit with dr shook he recognized that I might have cancer, when my long time primary dr should have caught it over a year ago. It’s not easy when you change doctors but I am glad I did.
Had to cancel a couple of my dad’s appts well in advance because he fell ill and had to go into the hospital. He was discharged after a week but then had to back in and stayed for a month. When I tried to make an appointment after my father was released to come home I was told Dr. Shook would not see him. I’m sorry my dad’s poor health was an inconvenience and I find it despicable that he would refuse to accept him as a patient. How arrogant and disgusting and I’ve even had my sons look for another doctor. Wish I could give 0 stars!!
Support staff is rude and had the audacity to accuse me of fraud when I asked them to correct how they coded my visit. They refused and now I have to pay out of my pocket instead of insurance. I asked for Dr. Shook to call me back to address the problem and he never did. I have filed a complaint. I do not recommend going here. There are places to go where they treat you like a valued customer and actually care about you.
Dr. Shook is a wonderful Doctor. His knowledge, professionalism, kindness and prevention. Is why, he has been my Internist for the past 7 years. The Office/ Lab is conveniently located on the same floor. Very clean facilities. The Office staff/ Lab Technicians have great customer service. I have recommended him to family, friends and colleagues.
Empathetic and thorough. Staff was efficient and friendly. Communication and follow up has been excellent.
We had an appointment for 4:30 and arrived in the office at 4:25 due to heavy traffic in the rain. We were informed by reception that they had our appointment down for 4:15, but because we weren't there and we were Dr. Shook's last appointment of the day he left for the day. No courtesy call, no waiting for a few minutes. He just up and left. This was a follow up appointment and would've been a second visit. Not exactly what I would call good patient care.
As a person Dr. Shook is very nice and he has a good bed side manner. He really appears to care. He does have some negatives. In my opinion, doctors need to be more curious about what is going on related to health symptoms the patient is having. One time I brought in a handwritten list of many symptoms to share with Dr. Shook, including one very serious symptom. He did not keep the list given him or research what might be happening. Luckily, I did my own research and found a doctor who diagnosed the problem quickly and basically saved my life.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
