Charles Zelen's Online Review Report Card

It was a tough year but after dr.zelens help. I'm back up and walking and making progress to being back to normal. Dr.zelens practice is filled with skilled nurses and doctors with smiling faces that want to help. Thank you again dr.zelen for all the work you did so I could keep my foot.

I had the unfortunate experience of having Charles Zelen as a surgeon a few years ago and almost lost my whole left foot. All I had was planters fasciitis but when I came out of surgery he had cut up my tendons and ligaments and sewed my foot back up like that. I spent two years in horrible pain and he had me so jacked up on high doses of hydrocodone it wasn't funny. After nine months of trying to work and walk another foot surgeon saw me trying to walk had me come see him and told me I had a failed surgery. This Dr had to correct the surgery that Zelen had done all the while telling me that he corrects all of Zellen's screw ups . I had to have extensive surgery to shift my heel back over three inches with a screw in my heel and had to have all of my ligaments and tendons repaired. I do not recommend this Dr to anyone who wants to walk properly. I guess he thought a kiss on the cheek every time was going to keep me from telling this horrid experience but take heed. He is less than desirable as a surgeon. That's my experience.

Great Dr. Very pleased with outcome. Staff friendly and helpful. Wait time is long but worth it.

Dr. Zelen is always thorough with every exam. He is a doctor that asks you what you are feeling and going on with your foot & ankle "AND REALLY LISTENS TO YOU". Doctors I had before Dr. Zelen would straight out tell me it was impossible and I didn't know what I was talking about if I described something that seemed strange but then have no problem operating on me which would make it worse, leaving me with more problems than I had before going to them. Dr. Zelen, he will figure out what the problem is. He fixes the problem and is always kind and considerate. I have to drive almost 3 hours 1 way for my doctor visits and I have no problem with it because I am so confident in Dr. Zelen. I wouldn't trust another doctor with my foot & ankle. I wish he was a doctor that could do it all so I could stop seeing the other doctors that I wouldn't even take my dog to.

They gave me cortisone shots on both feet then operated on both now having issues and wouldn't help with my fmla papers. Told me I needed to find another job. Been their 12 years working towards a pension. Must be nice

I am a repeat patient. I began having pain in my left Achilles tendon several months ago and finally decided it was time to go to the doctor. The obvious choice was to go back to Dr. Zelen. In March 2017 he did surgery on my right Achilles tendon and I had a fantastic outcome. Dr. Zelen knows what he is doing when it comes to feet and ankles. I have already recommended him to two of my friends and they have had great outcomes as well with their problems. He is a very popular doctor and sometimes you have to wait to be seen, but believe me when I say it is worth the time. I could go to a podiatrist that is closer to my home, but it is well worth the 50 minute drive to be seen by Dr. Zelen. You won't be disappointed if you choose Dr. Zelen.

My husband has been seeing Dr. Zelen for a couple of years now. After being told his foot was fine by a Doctor in West Virginia, the only saving grace from the injury has been Dr. Zelen. Dr. Zelen looked at the images and instantly corrected my husband's issues with his ankle. We most certainly would never trust the Doctors in West Virginia to do such an intense surgery that this truly amazing Doctor has done. In addition to helping him with the injury, this was a work place injury. Dr. Zelen and his staff was amazing when billing and working with workers comp. All around a great group and amazing to work with. Thanks Dr. Zelen and Your staff for helping my husband in so many ways. 5 stars all the way!

I have had 2 shredded Achilles operations by Dr Zelen. He is the most kindest and gentle doctor I've ever had to perform procedures on me. He's very informative and explains to the utmost of understanding. The staff is very kind and helpful and the receptionists are helpful with appointments when having to travel a distance to get there. His office is busy but that tells you how good he is and he is definitely worth the drive and the wait.

Dr. Zelen fixed my Charcot diseased foot when other podiatrists wanted to amputate. He explains things in a way that is understood. Excellent bedside manner. Staff is friendly and helpful. I travel 2 hours to see him as do many other patients, some farther. I highly recommend Dr. Zelen.
