List of Ayman Boutros's Reviews
Not only did I love working with him, he was also my personal ophthalmologist until I retired and moved away. Great doctor!
They are more concerned about you wearing a mask than with treating you. Go elsewhere. When you walk in the staff is hiding behind plexiglass like you have some horrible disease, They are fearful. I don't trust them anymore.
Outstanding experience here. I had a suspected vitreous separation and struggled to get into a doctor near home in Maryland, so went here on the recommendation of a friend. They got me in quickly. I arrived early for my appointment ... about 45 minutes to allow for bureaucracy. The paperwork and intake took about 10 minutes max (with a busy waiting room). I was taken back EARLY for the exam and tests. By the time my schedule appointment time came up, I was done. The equipment is state of the art, Carlos the technician was kind and expert, and Dr. Boutros spent sufficient time with me to explain my situation and to really review the data from the scans. EASILY the best medical experience of the last 10-15 years. Great process management from beginning to end, with enough facilities, people, and equipment to handle the workload. I will drive down here from northern Maryland for eyeglasses and care in the future.
Bad experience.
Not good. When I asked specifics about my procedure, the response was"read your packet".
ask him how come he still wears glasses when he is pushing surgeries on patients to encourage them to get rid of their glasses. also does he tell you that lasik does not stay with you because as you grow older, your eyes change dramatically. also if he says you should have cataract surgery, you might want to get another opinion or perhaps two other opinions, otherwise your vision will change definitely for the rest of your life. when they (others in his office) do cataract surgery, how many are performing this surgery at the same time. you might get the impression that you are on a conveyor belt. amazing how trustworthy a person becomes of a medical doctor when in fact we should definitely get other opinions before making a commitment.
Called this am to make an appointment because I woke up with a swollen eye. After waiting a good 15 minutes for the first person to answer my call, the first question the woman asked me was “what insurance do you have?”. She would put me on hold again without asking my name or any other info doctors offices usually ask. A few minutes later, another woman gets on the phone (I believe was the same one) and her name was shirin (in Arabic شيرين). She asks me again about my insurance, and I said that I already answered this question. For the oddest reason, shirin starts laughing, which I thought was very unprofessional and frankly weird and insulting when you you laugh at a patient calling you because they need help. I normally don’t write reviews but this particular incident should never happen at a professional level. Rest assure that I will spread the word about your office all over the sterling/ ashburn/ landsdowne, Leesburg and beyond. You might have a good business now that you don’t care about new patients, but things change over time. Yours truly,
I have know Ayman Boutros since 1987 when he opened his first practice in Sterling; I have been a patient since. So has my entire family. Within 5 minutes of my Mother sitting in the exam chair, Dr. Boutros tuned to me and said: Ray! Your Mom has a Parkinsonian Stare. HE first diagnosed my Mother's Parkinson! He also performed cataract surgery on her and a number of my friends have had corrective surgery with him. Anytime some one mentions an issue with their eyes I immediately refer them to him
Had all types of problem with my eyes caused mainly by having RA. Since See Dr Boutros they've pretty much cleared up.
I am a professional business person. I read and study people and find Dr. Boutros money crazed! His modus or method of extracting money from patients is beyond what the profession demands or should charge. Dr. Boutros is using his skills to extract, charge excessively patients who are under his purview! His office staff is unprofessional, ill mannered and act like a bunch of vultures as part of the kill. Dr. Boutros is "milking" the system and his patients for every penny he can. Not only is he unethical his wife is in on it also. My answer is go to another eye specialist and complain to the State of Virginia about Boutros charging excessively. He will one day just disappear from his practice to enjoy his money made from charging his patients excessively. I also notice nothing in the above ratings that offer or mention a question on pricing?

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
