List of Christina L Butera's Reviews
I honestly don't understand the poor reviews for Dr. Butera. My close friend and I both bring our children to her and she has been an incredible blessing to our families. She diagnosed my son almost immediately after several other doctors completely missed what was going on with him. While I was startled by the diagnosis, I was truly grateful that Dr. Tina caught it, explained it and helped us learn how to manage it. She was kind and compassionate but very thorough and answered all of my questions. I felt like we were in great hands with her. Grateful.
I thought the doctor was thourough and very knowledgeable about my double vision
My son's pediatrician recommended this monster to my 4 y/o son and I literally ran out of that appointment after the first visit and never returned. She is the nastiest person I've ever met in my entire life. Not only her bedside manner is horrendous, her behavior towards her staff is out of this world. She doesn't talk to them, she commands them. She is NASTY to staff and nurses. I feel horrible for the people working with her. Please run away from this monster as fast as you can. She should NOT be working with human beings let alone children, period!
Dr. Butera is truly an expert. I was concerned reading the other reviews but now that I've met her, I don't agree that they are accurate. She treated my 10 year old son with straight-forward expertise, relevant information, kindness and patience. She took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. She was recommended by one of my closest friends and she ended up diagnosing my son with something that we never would have expected, but truly are so grateful to understand now. I felt like he was in great hands and I give her my full recommendation.
I really want to like Dr Butera as we've been going to her for 4 years but this year I decided I can't take anymore of her AWFUL bedside manner. This women should not be treating children AT ALL. She has no patience and she's rude! I stayed with her because our pediatrician said she was good but I would imagine she can't be the only good doctor in the area. STAY AWAY!

The front desk here is amazing and Dr. Butera is an excellent ophthalmologist my experience with that side of the office was better than 5*****! The reason for the 1 star rating is the optician side - I rarely review businesses, but I am livid! My 8 year old son needs his first pair of glasses he has been missing school because of severe headaches and throwing up. We have been going EVERYWHERE for DAYS trying to find him glasses that aren’t 500$ We don’t have vision insurance right now, but we will in 1 week. I had to pick up paperwork from Dr.Butera today and noticed the optician side. The frames in the front were priced $200 or more, I already knew a complete pair was going to be $400+ I spoke to the front desk and briefly explained the situation and asked the front desk if they could take my sons PD measurements, so I can order something cheap now because he’s missing too much school. The front desk told me that the optometrist could give me that info. I waited for the optometrist for 20mins+ as she was with another customer- when she was done I asked if she’d be able to give me my son’s PD measurements and tried to explain what was happening with my insurance. I wasn’t able to tell her exactly because she became rude and condescending- she said my son needed to be there, which he was!!! He was outside but I couldn’t even explain that. THEN SHE SAID THERE WAS A $30 CHARGE 30 f-Ing U.S. DOLLARS just to take his PD. Our pediatrician did an eye exam and I noticed they had measurements on our print out I showed her and asked is this his PD - she said NO (that ended up being a lie) I get it, I used to work for my eye dr, an optometrist will not give you a PD until you’ve paid for glasses. Why? It’s their livelihood. It’s sales. They make commission and at 150% markup why would they give you that info for free??! Well let me tell you why - it’s called good customer service. I would have come back once our VSP is active to purchase a better pair. I just needed something cheap now, today! so my son’s headaches stop, so he stops throwing up from the headaches and so he can go to school! The next thing that needs to be mentioned especially in SALES - don’t be quick to judge people by appearance- I know I looked a bit rough today, in fact I’m sure I looked broke. You can’t tell what’s in my wallet by what I’m wearing. maybe if the optician took the time to look at my son’s chart she would have sterotyped me differently because of my Great Falls address. In my experience optometrist and opticians are just in it for the money. They are not medical doctors they are not medically trained and after this experience they really don’t care about the health of the person they are supposed to provide services to. Fun fact - the next place I went to was Dr. Mays Dr. Hettler & associates in sterling. I told the optician what happened and the charge for the PD - guess what they did? They did my son’s PD for FREE. Guess what I did? I bought him a complete pair of raybans for $209 - why did I spend that much?? BECAUSE they weren’t jerks.
Our children have been Dr Butera’s patients since they were in kindergarten and now college children. She is very thorough and very caring. Thanks for taking such good care of our sons.
I took my son for 2nd opinion for lazy eye. Office staff are efficient and quick. The doctor aid/nurse was very good with young kids. Doctor was thorough and quick and clear. Overall a great experience. Definitely recommend her
This doctor has no bedside manners. Stay away. She literally walked in and out of my daughter's appointment in less than 2 minutes. All of the work was done by the techs. Unbelievable. She did not even discuss my daughter's condition to us. She needs glasses, that's all she said. This person has no right to work with kids!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
