List of Darrell S Reisner's Reviews
This is not a rating on Dr. Darrell Reisner's surgical abilities or mannerisms, but rather the office that runs the practice he is a part of. So in essence. it is a review of all of them. The Eye Center! I scheduled my two cataract surgeries with Dr. Reisner after an MD friend recommended him to me. I met him, had my initial consultation with Dr. Reisner. He was great. I called the office a day before surgery because the directions given to me do not match the names of the eye drops I was subscribed to. The drops also cost over $400, and insurance doesn't cover them. I stay on hold forever; the front desk assures me he is getting the information I need from the nurse. He comes back and gives me absolutely the wrong information. My husband and I research online and figure it out on our own. Thank god we didn't listen to him. Surgery eye number one done, and here we are post-operation day one visit. The waiting room is so busy, and older people are standing—no room to wait. Hold up,
I have been treated by Dr. Reisner for over 22 years. He is by far the best! He is knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. I highly recommend him!
I've seen Dr. Reisner at The Eye Center for several years. He did my Lasik surgery several years ago. Now I see him for chronic dry eyes. He's very patient, kind, caring, and never makes me feel rushed. He's easy to talk with and offers every possible solution to help his patients see through their issues. He is genuine and expresses so much enthusiasm when his patients have positive results. I wouldnt go to any other ophthalmologist. Highly recommend.
I would give a zero star or negative if I could. I would never to see this place again. Here is my 100% true experience. My experience is about Billing. After received a postcard that I am due for an annual eye exam, I went to see Dr. Reisner on 9/3/2019 for annual eye examination at its Fairfax location. In November 2019 I received a big bill which I called my insurance company and my insurance company said it was because the billing billed as diagnosis and they called the billing office on my behave to discuss the billing and I stayed on with them. We tried 3 times and each time for 20 minutes could not get anybody to talk to. It was always busy. I kept calling the billing office, eventually the call went through and I talked to a lady. She first said it was diagnosis. After I explained what my appointment was and she eventually told me she did not have authority to change the billing code and only dr. can change the billing code. That was something totally new to me. Never happened to me to any other doctors. So I asked to talk to Dr Reisner and I was told he was in surgery and I need to write a letter to him. I wrote a letter to him on December 12, 2019. Never heard anything. Today I received another bill, with the same amount of charge. Nothing changes. No communication. So I called billing department again. They asked me to call Sterling office where the letter was sent. Sterling office transferred me to billing and only voice message can be left. I did leave a voice message. Then I called their Fairfax office and was asked to talk to billing office and said the Kelly (?) at their sterling office is waiting for my call. I called back and voice message again. I called and called, 5+ times, always voice messages. Till now my good faith of all effort to solve this issue being ignored and abused. I am turning toward my legal service to help me now. It is just not right to treat your customer this way, Dr Reisner. My parents and my finance all used your service, and they will hear my story and so as many people as I can reach to share my story. I never write such negative review... but your billing and office went too far... after my every effort to solve this in a good manner. Here you go. Hope you can see what happened here. And if you have any good intention to get this worked out, I am here. Thanks
This Dr. is rude and arrogant. He destroyed my sons eyes and left from where he was working at the time of surgery, never heard from him again! Beware!
I want to thank the entire team of the Reston Surgery center for taking such a wonderful care of their patients. I want say special thanks to Dr. Darrell Reisner for his kindness, care and professionalism. Wishing everyone good health and best of luck in all future endeavors.
Dr. Darrell Reisner is one of the best ophthalmologists I have had the pleasure to visit on a regular basis, after my cornea transplant at the Cleveland Clinic it was difficult to get comfortable with a new doctor touching and probing my eye. He has an awesome peaceful calming demeanor and is extremely up to date on the modern medicines and treatments.
I had a problem with a "curtain effect" in one eye 10 years ago and Dr. Reisner correctly diagnosed a detached retina. Because of the ultra prompt attention the same day, retina reattachment surgery saved the vision in my right eye. Roll the clock ahead to 2015 when I had the same symptom in the same eye and rushed to his office. However in this case, Dr. Reisner correctly diagnosed the problem as an eye stroke and got me into the ER for priority care (zero wait time). With the ultra prompt medical care and meds, my vision came back and I avoided more serious cardiovascular and health consequences.
Surgery was 10 minutes & completely no problem. Had 20/20 vision one day after surgery. No pain, no complications; it couldn't have gone better.
Pterygium surgery 2013. Very long period of recover. Eye looked like he used a pen knife. He wants his patient to show up for surgery two hours in advance, then you wait 3 hours.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
