It truly should be no stars but I had to choose one to be able to write the review. Dr. Barakat missed diagnosed my father in June, saying the shadowing they were seeing was just a small infection and he would see him in 6 months. In August, after a trip to the ER, and new doctors, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. We trusted him to provide the best care and he failed!

Awful doctor, my dad was seeing him and Pat Edwards that works there, did not listen, we had to switch doctors as now my dad has possible lung cancer and was never found at their office, nor did they do anything to help!

Does not listen to patient - shows no trust. Would not even discuss the actual reason for the visit, instead he focused on an unrelated symptom and referred me to another physician.

He is an excellent physician. He may sometimes seem like he in in a hurry, just let him know you want to talk and he will discuss all of your issues with you.

Regardless of his expertise or experience, his lack of bedside manner and compassion during a period of critical care reminded me of just how important those qualities are in a physician. And when a doctor recommends that you pull the plug because insurance won’t cover another night in ICU, it’s time for that doctor to do some soul-searching and figure out “why” he became a critical care doctor in the first place. Never again.
