List of Julie Leigh Md's Reviews
I had a routine appointment with Julie Lee and found her to be arrogant, condescending, and judgmental. Being myopic since childhood, I have been through a great many ophthalmologist visits. There is a distinct lack of respect and expertise here and I would never feel comfortable returning. In addition, my husband has visited her and she was completely unhelpful in offering any solution to his vision problems. I advise anyone reading this to avoid seeking care from this doctor. Choose anyone else.
Dr Leigh is one of my favorite doctors. She is professional, kind and communicates very well. I feel that she really cares about me as a patient. In addition to having such incredible "bedside manner", the medical care she provides is top notch.
I understand that Dr. Leigh has many positive reviews and also some negative reviews. But my experience with her was negative. I waited one hour to see her for about 7 minutes. I have been to my share of opthalmologists and her exam was cursory at best. She was very friendly with the patient next door (thin walls) and spent 20 mins (I was timing) simply chatting with them about non-medical topics. Yet, during my time, she stressed twice how she did not have time to answer all my questions and that I should make another appointment! She was also judgmental of my specific issue when we are supposed to bring our vulnerabilities to the doc. However, of course, I was billed full price and of course she made no apology or acknowledgement of my wasted one hour. I felt I had to coax treatment options and explanations out of her. She did not want to explain. I understand that she is the doc, but if she truly understands the problem and the solution and cares, then she should be able/want to take the time to explain the issues to the patient/consumer. I left feeling worse than before...drained.
I have been with Dr. Leigh for several years now and she is the most through and patient Doctor I have ever met. She listens to you and let you know what she thinks about your situation. I recommend her highly.
I sustained a black eye injury from my girl friend and went to visit with Dr. Leigh after ER visit (ruling out fractures and other conditions). After examining my eye for retinal detachment and other potential conditions, she took time to double check it to confirm that everything is in good condition under the circumstances. Also urge me to call her at once if I develop more floaters and flashes.
I initially went to Dr. Leigh on a recommendation from a friend when my usual eye doctor was not able to find a problem with my eye when I knew there was one. Dr. Leigh found the problem immediately and presented different care options clearly and thoughtfully. She really cared about helping me come up with a solution and was always willing to spend as much time as necessary to give me the absolute best care. I am switching to Dr. Leigh for all my eye care from now on.
Perfect manners, communications, and very professional.
I went to see Dr. Leigh for an annual eye exam and because of dry eye/redness issues I was having due to my contact lenses. she immediately diagnosed the problem and discussed my options. she recommended a new type of contact lens and provided samples of two types and gave me sample eye drops. She also further examined and discussed a condition i was diagnosed with by another doctor - lattice degeneration, which could lead to retinal detachment in the future. i trust her to be able to provide ongoing care, and i'm in my mid-30s. She's very personable, nice, and professional. she introduced herself to me by her first name, so no airs or arrogance. And, cares about you as the patient, not the paperwork she needs to fill-out for insurance! Very nice person.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
