Alexander Aboka's Online Review Report Card

When I first came to this office I was excited! Finally a Dr. in a small office that will listen to my needs and concerns because it is a one man show. But when I went back and Dr. Aboka forgot what he told me on my last visit. That concerned me. He didn't look at my chart before coming into the exam room. Or did he not even write down what he said he was going to do for me. This is NOT good at all! I am also going through a hardship and needed some paperwork filled out and returned. The company trying to help me out said they got back reports from ALL my Dr's except Dr. Aboka's office, so I brought them the form to fill out. Then they hit me with it's $35 fee... well hello I don't have any money... I need this paperwork filled out for the short term disability... finally a woman said just do it. Then the company trying to help me out financially said that they are closing my case because they still haven't received my paperwork... I then call Dr. Aboka's office back to see what the hold up was and the receptionist said... that's not going to be done right away we don't fill out paperwork in the same day it will be a week! What really! A whole week even if the patient is suffering a hardship... Oh and not to mention, they will NOT bill you for your co-pay, if you don't have it... you will NOT be seen. Thank God I found this card that had $50 on it. And to add... what orthopedic office doesn't keep disability worksheets on hand. You have to go to DMV get the paperwork, bring it back to the Dr's office have them take their time filling it out then get the paperwork back to take it back to DMV! OMD!!!! There is something to say for larger Dr. offices I guess... with more Dr's and office staff that has everything you need right there, paperwork done on the same day and sympathize with what your going through. Call me spoiled but that's what I'm used to. So once again I'm looking for another Orthopedic surgeon. With a better office staff.And I found one... Dr. Sandra Glasson. #awesomeortho

Good Dr. Insurance picked for me. He needs to get his name out to more people. Once he get this office set up and improve wait time then he can get 5 stars.😊

I had an initial appointment with Dr. Aboka November 26th and I really liked him and his staff! Dr. Aboka was very thorough, explained what was causing the issue with my shoulder, and presented my treatment options. I also loved the fact that he was very upfront regarding the pros and cons of anti-inflammatory steroid injections and advised me to wait until after the MRI so that I would have more accurate results. He was going to submit an order for my MRI as well as have a prescription called into my pharmacy. Dr. Aboka had advised me that the MRI office is pretty quick to get testing scheduled. I was excited to see him for a follow-up and get surgery scheduled.The MRI folks never called, nor was my prescription called in. On December 17th I followed-up and called Dr. Aboka's office, they did some checking and advised me my MRI was never ordered and the prescription was also not called in. This is where I am so disappointed to have to leave a negative review. Dr. Aboka is out of the office and nothing can be done to help me at this point. He doesn't return until NEXT MONTH! In the meantime, my pain is worsening and I must seek out another specialist. Now in order to get a copy of the X-Rays that were taken, there is a fee I must pay the office. I do not think this is fair because Dr. Aboka failed to follow through on his part and I have no choice at this time but to seek treatment elsewhere. Again, I really liked Dr. Aboka and I was looking forward to my treatment with him but I'm very disappointed in this experience.

My husband hurt his shoulder working, we knew something was really wrong because he had no strength and the pain was getting worse everyday. After seeing his pcp twice, a nightmare experience at another orthopedic & 6 weeks of severe pain with no hope in sight, I found Dr. Aboka. He is an amazing, confiendent, understanding & compitant doctor! We didn't wait more than 5mins to be seen and Dr. Aboka diagnosed my husband after a thorough exam. He took his time explaining everything to us about the tear in his rotor cuff and how he will be fixing it. Got him scheduled for surgery and helped ease his pain all in 1 visit!!! I'm so grateful to him for the time he took to help my husband and actually listen to everything he had to say. The office staff is also Amazing!! Everyone was very supportive and understanding.

I wanted to take a moment to say how wonderful my experience has been with Oceana Sports Medicine, Dr. Aboka and his staff. When I initially sought help upon discharge from the ER, for some reason, I was unable to get an appointment with anyone before two weeks. However, Kelly was able to get me scheduled within a few days. Not only am I able to get my appointments right at 8:30am, the only time I am able to see Dr. Aboka, with each visit, I am greeted by my first name with enthusiasm and a smile. I never thought about it too much, but that really makes me feel welcome. Every staff member very clearly explains what is happening and why it is being done. And they do it with politeness and professionalism, no matter how many questions I have. That is especially true with Dr. Aboka. I think I have asked the same questions about ten times. But he doesn't seem to mind. He is such a pleasant and patient person. I am really glad that I found Oceana Sports Medicine. Thank you.

I had a knee replacement, it looks and works great! He has a good bed side manners, he listens to me. He is the best Dr. that I have ever been to.
