While on vacation in Outer Banks I began having problems with floaters and flashes. I called Dr. Mandell in Virginia Beach. His staff fit me in as an emergency and we drove 3 hours to see him as he was only retinal specialist I could find. I was his last patient of the day on a Friday afternoon. Staff and Dr. Mandell were wonderful and did not rush through my exam. He explained what was happening to me and I felt very reassured upon leaving his office plus advising on a follow up with my eye doctor at home. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Mandell performed surgery on our very premature son and saved his eyes. He is gifted and caring. I would recommend him to anyone who needed a retina specialist. We are forever thankful and grateful for him.

Dr. Mandell and his staff are fabulous. Dr. Mandell is thorough and uses the latest approved treatments. I have had a few emergency issues which have been handled with timeliness and the utmost care.

Dr. Lipman and Dr. Mandell have been great!! Dr. Lipman corrected my mother's detached retina in December and saved her eye. Her treatment has been ongoing and he has been very attentive and concerned about her recovery. She has been fit into the schedule on the same day for several emergency appointments. Additionally, we have spoken to Dr. and Mrs. Mandell at inconvenient times on weekends and holidays and they have been pleasant, thorough and very helpful; even calling to back to confirm that the issue was resolved. I can't say enough about them and their extraordinary staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We HIGHLY recommend this team of professionals!!

Very poor assistance, if you’re elderly don’t go, they will not help you. You call they will not let you talk to anyone. Wait until someone will be free to talk to you. Very bad experience with my ancle eye.

The only negative thing I have is the wait time to see technician is long. Little wait time for Dr. Mandell.
