List of Karen Mcgeehan's Reviews
I am always impressed with her understanding my questions and concerns about my health. She is a really efficient and effective Dr.. that actually listens when you talk and comes up with a treatment plan that fits my needs as a patient. Her office staff and her nurses are amazing and go above and beyond with the patients.
I saw dr mcgeehan in October. She told me that she would like to do blood work and would have results in a few days. A week later I called the office to get results they told me would have to get back to me. Never did. On Tuesday of this week I called office because I had done a home Covid test and it was positive. Since I had cancer which was now in remission and since my immune levels are low I wanted to get a test through the office. They told me they would get back to me that afternoon or next day. I never heard back. I called Wednesday afternoon and the girl said to me “I told you someone either a nurse or the doctor would get back to me”. Well here it is Thursday 5:30 and no one ever got back to me. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I know that doctors are busy now but to put my mind at ease I believe someone should have called me back
My husband went to Bayview Princess Anne for an annual checkup with his PCP. He didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks until an oncologists office called for a referral due to abnormal blood results. My husband had no idea he had abnormal blood results or that he was being referred to an oncologist. He tried calling the Bayview office on multiple occasions and received different answers: 1)the doctor is supposed to call you, there’s a note in your file 2)we already gave you a referral, so there’s nothing else we can do. The doctor (Karen Mcgeehan) never called, despite my husband specifically asking for her to call him back. He also requested a call back from a nurse to receive a referral to an oncologist office with closer appointment dates and never received a call back. When we finally arrived at the oncology office, they did some blood work, and confirmed his blood tests were normal. They suspected a lab error. Shame on this physician for never calling or communicating. Horrible care.
My husband went to Bayview Princess Anne for an annual checkup with his new PCP. He didn’t hear anything for two weeks until an oncologists office called as they received a referral due to abnormal blood results. My husband had no idea he had abnormal blood results or that he was being referred to an oncologist/hematologist. He tried calling the Bayview office on multiple occasions and received different answers: 1)the doctor is supposed to call you, there’s a note in your file to remind her 2)we already gave you a referral, so there’s nothing else we can do. The doctor (Karen Mcgeehan) never called, despite my husband specifically asking for her to call him back to explain the test results. He also requested a call back from a nurse to receive a referral to an oncologist office with closer appointment dates and never received a call back again. When we finally arrived at the oncology office, they did some blood work, received the results same day, and confirmed his blood tests were completely normal. They assumed there was a lab error and wondered why his PCP didn’t order another round of bloodwork to confirm the results (as they were odd given his young age). This office has absolutely no bedside manner, terrible communication, zero follow-up. Shame on the staff, especially the physician, for issuing a referral to an oncologist without even calling the patient. Deserves 0 stars, but I had to give one.
I'm overjoyed that Dr.McGeehan has returned to VA! She has been my PCP for over 20 years, she is compassionate, caring and truly has the best interest of her patients at heart. I love seeing her, and value her so very much!Jessica Stapleton
She primary-care doctor who was a partner in my overall health. She listened and she cares. She has a high value on courtesy and professionalism. I had the pleasure of her care for over 15 years in Virginia Beach. I haven't found a Dr of her level since and like most of her patients here I miss her a lot.
Dr. McGeehan is the best doctor people in Virginia miss her. She took care of my children, father, Mother, Aunt Babe and myself Rene. You are getting a caring, loving Dr. and there are not many in this time. If Phili. does not want her please send her back to Virginia. I have not found a good doctor since she left.
I was a patient with Dr McGeehan for more than 15 years. She always had time to discuss any concern and follow through on every one with treatment, testing, referrals, and patient education. It was a sad day for our family when she moved to Pa. We miss her and hope to find someone just as caring to take her place.
Dr . McGeehan is an excellent dr. In addition to treating the medical needs, she is also compassionate about her patients emotional needs, evidenced through the time she takes with her patients. I highly recommend her. My longevity with her practice is proof of my committed to remain with her as long as I possibly can.
Great Doctor, Cares about your health and can always get an appointment if needed if a emergency arises. She cared for me when I was very ill and gave me the best advice. By far the best Doctor around after talking with friends about their time in a office. Thank you SMG(-:

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
