MIchael Webb's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Webb is chill and laid back. I liked his attitude and down-to-earthness. It was refreshing to talk to what it felt to me was just normal, nice guy. I saw him at the Urgent Care facility on Indian River Rd.

Professional staff that took time to listen to my issue and approached it from an objective point of view. Very happy with my care. Very busy practice being occupational medicine, however staff able to maintain sense of calm and display professionalism despite the stress.

Relevant Principles of medical ethics I. A physician shall be dedicated to providing competent medical care, with compassion and respect for human dignity and rights. II. A physician shall uphold the standards of professionalism, be honest in all professional interactions, and strive to report physicians deficient in character or competence, or engaging in fraud or deception, to appropriate entities. III. A physician shall respect the law and also recognize a responsibility to seek changes in those requirements which are contrary to the best interests of the patient. IV. A physician shall respect the rights of patients, colleagues, and other health professionals, and shall safeguard patient confidences and privacy within the constraints of the law. VIII. A physician shall, while caring for a patient, regard responsibility to the patient as paramount. Dedication to providing competent Medical Care with regard to compassion and respect to Human dignity and rights is the last of all descriptions that I can use to provide insight to my experiences today. During my experience at NowCare, multiple principles of the above in which Dr. Michael Webb has committed to were not fulfilled. My best interests were not considered in the lack of competent medical attention I (didn't) receive. To the point where I had to call the doctor back in the room simply to ask him what was wrong with me. Patients should not have to call a physician into the room to explain a disease process or anatomical discrepancies in their diagnosis. This should be basic, quality care. I was not given any physical therapy or suggestions on exercise on how to benefit, improve or deal with my condition. I was simply given a piece of paper telling me what I could not do. I understand the perspectives of treating workers with workers compensation, and have some resentment might fit in when under the impression that employees want to be paid without working, although this is not the case in my situation. I want to work, I want to provide for my children and my family, and yet I want to avoid any future injuries by doing activities that may benefit my condition in every possible way. A competent physician would assist me in doing so. A competent physician would spend more than 30 seconds in the room handing me a piece of paper. A competent physician would ask me if I was in any pain, if I was experiencing any new symptoms or sensations. A competent physician would at least loo at my MRI images. This is not me expecting the care of a private upscale practice, but the basic care from a physician with enough competence to earn his license to practice medicine. Respect and compassion for human dignity, were by no means ever held in paramount. I wonder if this physician just ust goes home and spend his paycheck without wondering if he mistreated anyone, misdiagnosed anyone , leading to further injuries. Or is he simply a middleman used to write scripts and referrals to Specialists that put time and effort into their purpose? This is exactly what he did. He wrote me a referral for neurosurgery and expected to stay in the room less than 30 seconds, probably because he has 7 more patients to treat in the next hour, gave me a piece of paper telling me actions of everyday work that I could not do , told me I was going back to work and that I had a referral to surgery and walked away. I called him back in because the idea of surgery is scary , especially on my spine, and I would expect that any physician might employ some empathy and compassion when treating people. I expected he might have something more to say then "get out of my office you're going back to work", when a patient exclaims in panic "I just want to know what is wrong with me." Stay away, stay away, stay far far away, all my crappy experiences with Tricare are better.

I was seen by Dr. Webb today and was appalled at the horrible manner that I was treated. He stormed in, didn't introduce himself, didn't ask me any questions about my injury, didn't look at my injury and within THREE MINUTES was out of the treatment room. When I approached him about how upset I was, he proceeded to raise his voice, told me (almost yelling) "I AM TRYING TO HELP YOU!!". He also exclaimed "You should have gotten stitches THAT NIGHT". I explained that I had been propping up my hand to stop my thumb from throbbing and he cut me off with "WRONG! That's not how it works, I will give you a sling." He cut me off every time I tried to explain what my job entailed and why it is a challenge to work as a hair designer with a HUGE cut on my thumb. The icing on the cake was when he said (again, yelling) "Im sorry that you feel that way!" The nurses were nice, but I have NEVER EVER received such HORRIBLE bedside manner AND medical treatment in my 35 years on this planet. Do yourself a favor, if "Doctor" Michael Webb walks in to "treat" your illness or injury, DEMAND another service provider. I not only reported him to the clinic manager of that NowCare, but I am reporting him to the main office of this company and looking into submitting a complaint with the state medical board. Patients have rights and this doctor has NO RIGHT treating patients like he did today. I wished that I had recorded how he spoke to me, I was FLABBERGASTED.
