Dr. Horton is the BEST pediatrician! She is so caring and thorough. She takes the time to answer all my questions and you can tell that she truly cares about her patients. This office is clean and we never have to wait long to be seen. I appreciate that there are separate waiting areas for well and sick children.
We had our kids appointment scheduled months ahead and they canceled our appointment last minute . They weren’t able to reschedule us for the same day .we were explaining our situation that we have to use our benefits on the last 2 days of the year .Lead representative decided to hang up the phone on us .Very unprofessional
Extremely disappointing experience especially for a pediatric office. I had a wellness appointment scheduled for 12:30, I called because it was taking a while to check my child out of school and I knew I would be a bit behind. I was told there was only a 10 minute grace period. I assured them I would be there at 12:45. They wouldn’t budge on policy so I asked if I could do a walk in appointment because my child is actually sick. They said yes a nurse would see her. We walk into the nurses office and she tells us to go to an urgent care. Horrible customer service and concern for a sick child/patient of theirs!! There was not one patient in the lobby or waiting! They could have cared for this child but felt better to dismiss us!
Dr Horton is the best! She listens and we do not feel rushed as new parents. The front admin staff are also friendly and professional.
love Dr Horton for my son but DISLIKE the front desk and their communication skills.
It is the worst and unprofessional pediatrics you could ever have in your life. Despite all patients know their phone number is for decoration and not for calling purpose, it takes a few weeks to have baby health problem answered via portal and is not organized at all, including the receptionists who have no idea about appointments, missed routine immunization, lying about missing immunization, injection not following CDC requirements. They put baby in high risk from all kinds of mistakes you could face in pediatrics. If you choose to go there, please check the medical document carefully yourself to make sure everything is on track.
If you are looking for a pediatrics for your child, here are some red flags you might want to know before you visit town center pediatrics. Firstly, all other comments are true that their phone is not working, so if you wanna book an appointment or reschedule it, please go there in person. Secondly, the front desk is nothing but disaster, they have no idea about how insurance works and verify insurance ending by inputting wrong information to cause always smooth coverage into denial. Thirdly, they changed your medical information and lied about it for potential fraud or scam purpose. Yes, it is real. I also cannot believe it yet. Also it is the reason that my insurance denied my payment with wrong information. Fourthly, again like all other comments, they do ask you reschedule your appointment once you bring your baby showing in the clinic lobby according to booked appointment. Then feel free to squeeze time and bring baby there again after a few weeks. If you are fine to go through all of those, you can choose there cos Dr. is great and professional. Good luck!
I love them. The staff is always nice, area is always clean, and I always feel like my baby is cared for and paid attention to. Also, Dr. Kent and the nurses are great.
What an amazing and caring doctors office. I just switched all three of my kids to this practice after calling for a sick appointment. They are so well run, professional and kind. They did everything they good to get my children in asap. Nicole was just amazing, even calling me back to coordinate an earlier appointment. The doctor was wonderful too, allowing us to leave and wait for results via telephone. They are thorough and efficient.
Been taking my children to TCP for 16+ years and never experienced what I did today. Initially, my daughter had an appt on 8/22/22 and the office rescheduled that appt to 8/29/22. In between a week span, I was receiving voicemails and emails that her appt needs to be rescheduled again. I've been trying to reach them by phone which was a horrible experience trying to get a hold of someone just to confirm an appt. So I personally went down there on Friday August 26th and the young lady at the desk confirm that yes my daughter has an appt on Monday and printed out a letter to confirm it. Stated that their phone system is messing up. So on Monday...the day of the appt, the same young lady states that they have been trying to reach me to reschedule her appt AGAIN. I was extremely livid for I don't live in Virginia Beach and I was coming all the way from Portsmouth to make a 925 appt to be told it was rescheduled again due to short of staff. The young lady went into the back and came back with a gentleman to fix the situation. How in God's name that your short of staff stops my child from seeing a doctor for medical attention twice...back to back in two weeks. The lack of inconsideration,, communication and the importance of my child's medical needs to be ignored. I work, just like my child and to change my agendas to fit there needs is highly upsetting. Still to this moment, no one has called to make any future appts or to accommodate the doctors request for my child to be seen for mental issues. I will be changing my daughters PCP and no longer do business with Town Center Pediatrics. My child is upset and so am I.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
