List of Vasantha Hathwar's Reviews
I’m 69 years old and had very serious breathing issues that plagued me for over 10 years, several ER visits every year. My primary care physician was not able to clear up the problem, could only help when things got acute. Several other doctors that I was referred to were of no real help. Finally, while I was in the midst of a health crisis in a local ER, a doctor suggested that I try seeing Dr Hathwar. I wasn’t optimistic, just one more doctor that won’t be able to fix the problem, I thought. Long story short, it’s been 3 years now and I haven’t been in crisis once since seeing Dr Hathwar! I’m sooooo much better, my day to day quality of life is so much improved. I’m very thankful that I was referred to him, can’t say enough good things about him!
My wife saw him for years much to my displeasure. On one occasion he let her prescription sit on his desk for over a month with no reason for the delay, everything on our side was up to date. It took me going into the office and refusing to leave until he signed it. This was after he took it upon himself to change her prescription without consulting her. There's also the issue of getting medical records released to other Doctors, this is not something his office prioritizes, it would typically take several phone calls and nagging before it was faxed over. Spare yourself the agony of this incompetent man and his office.
awful experience, waste of time. Office staff fantastic, doctor condescending and loud.
This guy is the worst. A waste of time if you need a real Doctors help. He seemed like it was a burden to see me. He would not (or could not) explain the results of tests. He only read the analysts report and then told me what I already knew...I have sleep apnea. Thanks a bunch Sherlock. I would not go back to this guy or any organization who would hire him.
Been a patient for about a year. Really like the Doc. But office admin support is terrible. I have left numerous messages through answering service, receptionist voicemail, and most importantly the Portal. I have received ZERO responses. My only communications has been with staff by phone when they answer. I have discussed this with Office Manger. No improvement. Been trying to get my PFT test results for many months.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Sent me back to my primary care who referred me to him for ANOTHER referral to a neurologists because he couldn't figure out how to refer me to the neurologists on his own. I'm a very sick woman and this man clearly had me jumping through hoops to get as much out of my insurance as he could possibly bill. I honestly don't understand how he managed to be able to oversee any kind of prescription pad or finished medical school without being able to know how to do a simple referral. To send me back to the doctor who sent me to him in the first place with ZERO answers, he just gave up. Shouldn't be practicing medicine. Didn't even listen to me. Hands down the worst interaction with a physician that I've had in my 35 years. Wouldn't trust him with the health of my goldfish.
I am pleased to be able to post this. I feel I was fortunate to be referred to Dr. Hathwar as I had had several allergy pulmonary problems for a long time. l am free from acute problems completely although Dr. Hathwar says I probably will always need inhalers. That does not surprise me as I have used inhalers for most of my life. In fact, I was hospitalized in 1934 (!) for breathing problems. Thank you, Dr. Hathwar.
Anoher problem I had with Dr. Hathwar besides making fun of my profession was that he was incapable of listening. I'd rate that ability a zero. The office staff is inept and rude as others have said. The nurse kept telling me I did fine on my test. I told her that I didn't take the test and she insisted that I had. No I didn't. My mother died and I didn't feel like taking the test. So No, I did not do fine. These people need to top arguing and start practicing medicine.
Receptionists are rude, & make it their job to offer zero help. Four calls in less than a week re: follow up of recent hospital discharge of 91yo mother: "I'll leave a message with the doctor... the nurse"... or best of all "call back tomorrow." And immediately be put on hold.
He knows his medicine and respects his patients enough to get right to the answers. I have had asthma trouble for YEARS and only this doctor has made any difference in my situation. I am very grateful. He is probably not the guy to listen to your every woe - and that is not why I go to a doctor - but he listens long enough to understand exactly how to treat your medical needs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
