I was referred to Capital Oral Surgery to remove my wisdom teeth by my dentist. The day of my appointment, I put in "Capitol" oral surgery into Lyft, not realizing these practices were differentiated by one letter. I arrive at the wrong office, Capitol Oral, Facial and Implant, and tell them I am here for my 12:30 p.m. appointment on September 24, 2021. They tell me yes, I have an appointment, and "check me in." I sent them my referral via email because they claim that their system is down and they can't look it up. I email them my X-Rays. I go through the whole appointment, with my insurance only covering 40%. I thought that was odd, but they told me they accept MetLife and I didn't question my plan coverage, thinking I was in the right place. I now realize this is what my insurance covers for out of network offices. The front desk receptionist Carlos lied to me stating I had a scheduled appointment, but cannot prove that I was in their system. This is not informed consent.
