I met Dr. Kitchin only yesterday, when he did my upper endoscopy, though I had spoken with him previously on the phone. I was impressed by his reviews on-line, and his experience, along with his manner on the phone. I was not disappointed upon meeting him, as he was very friendly and honest. I was both surprised and gratified to hear him tell me that I didn't have to have this procedure again.

I moved here 5 years ago. I was very surprised at the method used by Dr. Kitchin and staff in treating new patients. i did not see him until after I'd had the prep and had been admitted for the procedure. He may have spent a total 5 minutes in my presence while I was awake. This method of "care" felt very mechanized. My previous doctor met with me face-to-face in his office before any procedure was scheduled.

I had my first colonoscopy with Dr. Kitchin in June 2014. He found and removed a small polyp. To his surprise it was cancer. In July 2014 he performed another colonoscopy to do a biopsy of the polyp site to make sure no cancer was left behind. There was none but he still wasn't satisfied so he ordered a CT scan. The scan showed something was wrong with my right kidney. More scans and I was sent to a urologist who confirmed cancer. I had my right kidney removed in November 2014. Today July 24,2015 I had a follow-up colonoscopy and there were no polyps and I don't have to have another colonoscopy for 3 years. If Dr. Kitchin had not been as thorough as he was they might not have found my kidney cancer until it was too late. Dr. Kitchin is not only a terrific doctor, he is also very kind and caring and so are all the staff who work with them. Final note: Have all screenings that your doctor recommends. Colonoscopies are not painful at all. The prep the day before isn't pleasant but it is a small price to pay to know you are cancer free.

Cancelled my appointment 1 hr before I was to be there. List a day of work for nothing....worst of all, I'm having symptoms of liver problems. This was the reason I was seeing him, after being referred by my GP. Reschedule 20 days later....now I have to wait 20 more days to find out what's going on with my liver. I guess I better hope it's not life threatening or I'm up the creek without a paddle.
