I saw Dr. Sears for stomach pain. He was wooden and cold and told me my stomach would never heal without even knowing what was wrong. I healed my stomach ulcer on my own with no help from this gloomy man.
The reason I left three stars is because I only saw him for a total of 5 minutes before the procedure and 5 minutes after. Never met him prior to my colonoscopy. I really would like to meet a doctor before any procedure, but I was told that is not how he operates. I would suggest to scheduling some days of the week, just so you can meet your patients. I moved here from Florida and my doctor there, Dr Kanner, was very personable. He spent time with his patients. In my opinion this is the difference between a great doctor and one that just gets three stars. Nickie in Winchester
Thorough but friendly, did a fine job with the procedure and followed up. Would recommend him as competent, judging from my own experience.
No stars. Was told instead of having ER do exam or run test for rectal bleeding or internal bleeding to schedule appt with my GI. He shook my hand and left room.
I do not recommend anyone seeing Dr. Sears if they have a problem that does not match a textbook definition. Dr. Sears told me that all of my problems stem from eating a high fat diet and I need to be a vegetarian and avoid dairy at all cost. He wrote me off as a know nothing 20 year old who does not eat right, never asked me about my dietary habits or previous medical history. Dr. Sears pushes his own personal non-medical based beliefs and will not listen to the patient.
My husband had a bleeding ulcer, that actually ruptured, vomiting over one pint of blood clots. He was rushed to the ER, and Dr. Sears was on the on call surgeon. He calmly explained what happened, what needed to be done to both my husband and me. When the surgery was over, there were no complications, none of the possible "bad" things happened. Dr. Sears was matter of fact, but not cold. I have chosen him for our doctor for anything below the belt! He is competent, honest and has our complete confidence.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
