The office and the room was dusty and dirty even some of the staff members seems very messy and make me feel uncomfortable because I can't believe how a Dr office can look like that. I prayed for that they didn't need to explore me with any medical tools 🙏 and is not good at all....everybody has a right to feel safe and care in a office doctor specially if we pay for it. The Dr and the nurse were nice and kind.

Someone in their office discarded my urine sample after I left the office and they could not run a culture. By the time I took another specimen and they got results, I was quite sick (bordering sepsis).

I am very disappointed with Dr. Desai. I miss a procedure appointment and now he wants to charge me $200.00 dollars because of that. I considered a punishments.I am an old person and $200 dollars is a lot for me. I realized that the doctor is very money oriented so thanks God he show himself from the beginning because who know after the surgery will happens? How in the world I will know how much he is going to charge me extras.

I have experienced procedures with both Desai MD's, Dr. Singh and Dr. Klein. Unfortunately and very recently I was an "emergency" patient due to stones getting stuck in traffic so to speak. This group "rocks". Sometimes i feel like i am the "Mayor of Stone-ville" since they grow like weeds in me (still can't figure out the why even after every known test). They should at least form into diamonds/rubies or sapphires so i get a reward not just a stent and power wash. Janice is another awesome asset to the team and very compassionate. I was sad to hear of the Sentara location being closed until repairs are done. Hopefully my next visit to get the stent out will be the alpha and omega of 2020. CC

I saw Dr. A Desai after a referral from the emergency room for kidney stones. I was in tremendous pain and Dr. A Desai told me in no uncertain terms the pain had nothing to do with the kidney stone on the imaging. He went on to tell me I needed to go to my primary care for a "complete workup". Well he could not have been more wrong. Five days later I passed a 7mm kidney stone and the pain went away. I am dumbfounded that he missed this diagnose, especially with all the tests and imaging.

Dr. Desai has an extremely compassionate demeanor. He truly enjoys assisting his patients. At my 1st visit I was very anxious and anticipated being told "all of your tests are normal." Instead, Dr. Desai assured me that he'd find the cause(s) of my problems and I would feeling better in no time. After just 3 visits, I'm glad that he was able to assist me in feeling better! Although I'll be under his care for a short while, I know I'm receiving the best treatment through it all!!

DR DESAI COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT THE WELL-BEING OF HIS PATIENTS!! I went to him 6 months ago. I could not get any information or follow-up despite repeated attempts and long holds on the phone (that never resulted in a human being) and a VM. Six months later, they call me about a bill. I actually got someone on the phone!!! I said I want info on the appt first - I have heard NOTHING - and the billing woman was snarky and unprofessional and said no info would be shared on the phone; if I wanted an update, I'd have to (1) pay the bill, and (2) set up another in-person meeting. I told her that if there's a serious issue and I can't get any follow-up information, that could be medical malpractice. Five min later, I finally hear from Dr Desai for the first time since my original appt. He kept yelling at me - and would not stop - for how I spoke to billing and for using the word "legal." I said he was not to yell at me and that he was acting unprofessional. I mentioned that I still had certain concerns (as of that day, coincidentally) and that I have no idea what is going on. He clearly could not have cared less. He was still furious - lecturing me about the billing dept - and then said he didn't want to be my doctor, would transfer my records, and then hung up on me. Just WOW. I have never experienced anything like this. Ever.

He has always taken time out for me and explained everything he is an amazing doctor,but his staff is also very courteous I love this office ty u all for taking care of me and my needs!!! Pagant jones they are 5 stars*****

I had seen his brother several yeRs ago for kidney stones but when I called Potomac Urology for an appointment concerning a female issue they recommended Dr. Alok because he specializes in female issues. I was impressed at the ease of making an appointment and his thoroughness. He wanted to know about other health issues I was experiencing to enable him to consider all factors that might be causing my symptoms. He’s a keeper!

I love Dr. Alok Desai , I’ve been having a reacuring problem and he’s been nothing but kind, patient and caring . Never once has he made me feel like there’s nothing else he can do, He continues to make me feel confident that all is ok it just takes time . I’m always very pleased with his nurses Zenida and April they run the show ?????? I had a lovely nurse yesterday but didn’t get her name . The front desk is nice especially Claudia she greats me by name ,this is the Alex office. Maryann
