Dr. Shahin is highly professional and clear in his explanations of conditions that need to be addressed with his patients. He is engaging and friendly and also forthright in his assessments. He was highly recommended by my primary care physician and I am grateful for this recommendation.

This is one of the good ones! I've found Dr. Shahin to be very thorough and comprehensive in his approach to patient care (I'll be 60 years old soon). I especially appreciate his patience in explaining the trends and meanings of my lab results and medications, ensuring I understand what to expect, what not to expect, and why. Dr Shahin considers alternatives to my current medications and follows up well with my primary care physician -- and that teamwork gives me great confidence in the care they both provide! He was recommended by my primary care physician and I feel very fortunate to have received that recommendation. Also, the staff is very efficient and responsive.

Dr. Shahin is very knowledgeable, an excellent communicator, and is always well-prepared for his patients. My appointments with Dr. Shahin are always extremely thorough. My first appointment included, reviewing and discussing my medical history, and then ended with a physical examination. You will be expected to have completed your lab work before each appointment, and have a list of your most current medications with you, when checking in at the front desk. He is very good at explaining things in layman’s terms, which means that he explains everything in terms that can be easily understood. Dr. Shahin is very understanding, and will always listen to your concerns. What I really like about Dr. Shahin, is that he also takes interest in all of your other health issues, as opposed to just concentrating on your kidney issues. If needed, Dr. Shahin is always open to contacting your primary care physician, or one of your other specialists. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Shahin for almost 2 years now, and my overall experience has been excellent. I’m completely satisfied with Dr. Shahin, his medical assistants, and his front desk staff. They are always very professional, courteous, and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Shahin to anyone looking for a nephrologist.

Dr. Shahin has been my doctor for the past year after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that has caused inflammation in my kidneys. My numbers are starting to head in the right direction. If I have any questions in between my appointments, Dr. Shahin will call me back to see what's going on.

I don’t understand how anyone could write give this place a five star. My father is 83 years old and this facility has been anything but convenient. First i get two different stories one being that i have to get blood results one day then the second day bring my father in law for his appointment as opposed to a more convenient time, a few days to a week later. I work and it’s not easy taking days off especially two days in a row. I think these people forget that they get paid for services from WORKING people, not unemployed for the most part. Then someone else tells me that i don’t have to bring him the next day. Then i get my father up on a Saturday morning, instructing him not to eat, again he is 83 and diabetic, to get his blood drawn only to get to the lab and discover that his lab request had not been sent by this office, as they informed me that it would. It’s mid morning and he has not taken his meds yet because he hasn’t eaten because he had to fast, of course. And now we have to do it again another day. This place obviously does not care about its patients it’s just a business for them.

This office has been amazing from the time you make your first appointment Dr Shahin has been my husbands doctor for quite a few years. My husband had to have major surgery at MedStar in DC (the only place with the surgeons how could perform the needed surgery). I was getting conflicting answers on whether his one kidney was compromised so I called this office. Even though Dr Shahin did not have privileges there he got in contact with a colleague who did and I was able to relax. During our next appointment he went over all the results and current medications. He is amazing and I would definitely recommend him to everyone

Since being referred to Dr Shahin several years ago, my health has steadily improved under his careful protocol. He has a great depth of understanding in this specialty that you expect and want, along with compassion and empathy. He is committed to helping you find solutions that are specific to your specific health needs. His staff is competent, friendly and understanding. I wholeheartedly recommend his office and practice to anyone.

Dr. Shahin,s office Is wonderful the people that work in the front office are so kind and they take the time to explain things to you and so does dr Shahin he is very gentle and he seems very caring he takes his time to explain what is happening with your health I’m glad that he’s my doctor

Dr.Shahin has been my Kidney doctor for years he has looked at my Kidneys Very very well, I appreciate the time he took to make sure I was very healthy. My experiences with his Office has Never been negative. I do not know where I would be without his care!
