Norma Zapata- De Perez's Online Review Report Card

The other reviews are correct: this doctor profits from keeping her patients coming in on a regular basis, all while failing to meet their medical needs. My mother started seeing this doctor a few years ago, and Zapata has been milking my mother’s “dry eyes,” requesting to see her every few months. Meanwhile, she outright refuses to give my mother an updated eyeglass prescription — has never issued one, despite multiple visits over the last years. She claims that she can’t provide the new prescription because of the “dry eyes.” However, she submits the medical insurance visits that are supposed to pay for the annual prescription checkups. I have filed a complaint against her and will be following up and filing others as needed. Her office is also rude and makes my mother wait an unreasonable amount of time. Stay away.

The doctor and receptionist were rude with me and talked about me behind my back and I got treatment there for my eye for almost a year and they would always give me prescription for my eyes or try to give me something, always trying to get as much money as they can from insurance, I had an eye infection and they tried to give me prescription for it throughout the whole year even when it went away and I also never got my exam for being colorblind when I would always ask she she will do it later. I do not recommend her because they do care for patients.

Dr Perez is a great doctor and second to none but her receptionist is a rude condescending bully unable to show the slightest compassion. He first told me I could not recschedule my appointment when I arrived 30 minutes early. He racanted and snapped that I could but it would cost me $50. My choice at that point was to wait in the confined waiting area where a young lady was sitting or go sit in my car in the 95 degree weather. In these times of COVID 19 I believe it calls for a little more flexibility and compassion especially since I am in a high risk group because of my age. I walked outside and realized I would pay the $50 rather than risk heat stroke or carbon monoxide poisoning in my car OR risk Covid 19 infection sitting in the small waiting room with complete strangers. I went back in and said bill me for the $50 and I will find another doctor. The bully receptionist was visibly angered. I walked away and a few days later received a certified letter with a bill for $50 that had a fine print note at the bottom of the bill that claimed I had 15 days from the day of the bill to pay or 18% interest woud acrue, both of which I believe are draconian and possibly illegal especially in times of COVID 19. So they lost thousands of dollars in future business so the bully at the front desk could have the momentary satisfaction of roughing up yet another patient, all of which I doubt Dr Perez realizes the full extent of.

Dr. Perez is a great doctor. Her care us second to none. But her receptionist is condescending, rude, and unfriendly. It was so bad I chose not to come back. He is a bully and because he said office policy was for an appointment that was not canceled properly he would bill me $50, I paid it but I said I would find me a new doctor. Bad customer service i couldn’t make it to my appointment because I had a family emergency, the dude that call me was so rude I try to explain to him but he rudely said are you coming our not when I answer him that I couldn’t go he responded well there goes a hour lost I don’t recommend this place front desk is very rude

Love her so much - too long of a story to go into in a review but was lucky to find her - I've never had to wait longer than a few minutes

OVER PRICED and the wait time is long. Had to wait for more than half an hour with an appointment! There are better and more economical options in the woodbridge area.

Top notch care and they take my insurance

Dr. Perez is AMAZING! Both of my girls had a bad case of chickenpox. One of them had it in her eyes. Dr. Perez treated her with medicated eyedrops and prevented any damage to her eyesight. Last year, my youngest daughter had something wrong with her right eye. Dr.Perez did a culture and found it to be a viral infection. After almost losing her eyesight Dr. Perez came up with the perfect combination of medication for her. She already has an autoimmune disease , so any type of illness can become catastrophic. My entire family have been enjoying her practice for the last 10 years. Thank you, Dr. Perez! Fondly, Jennifer, Zachery, Emily, and Katie-Marie.
