Dr Clayton is the best!! So caring, knowledge, just amazing! we are so grateful to find him for our daughter, hard to find a good doctor these days
Overall kind and knowledgeable doctor. Understands all aspects of spinal muscular atrophy. My daughter has been with this practice since she was 4 yrs old and now is 22. Wonderful practice.
I called to schedule an appointment for my mother in law not realizing it was for peds for pulmonary so Alyssa still proceeded to help me find the best doctor for my mother in law even emailed me some references. I say that is Amazing customer service. Thank you so much alyssa.
Great doctor, caring staff. Has been with my child for years.
Dr. Clayton is an excellent doctor for my son with significant medical needs. He was instrumental in finding the right ventilator settings and medications to make it possible to care for my child at home and has shown personal interest and attention to his care. Some pulmonary care needs can be attended to by a pediatrician or nurse practitioner, but if you have serious pulmonary needs, there’s no one I would recommend any higher.
Rubbish - Do not go! Avoid avoid!!The Pediatric Lung Center is just a money-making business, I found it is a worst medical practice, Do they not listen? No sympathy whatsoever shown, no apologies, tone very dry! One hour wait time even you have an appointment. I called to make an appointment for my 9-year-old Son because he had a cough at the night time, they asked me to get x-ray done before even see the patient first time. Doctor James E. Clayton, MD asked to bring the X-ray result on the first appointment. I got the X-ray done before the appointment cost me $652.00, then at the appointment they didn’t even see the X-rays in detail & did their own test to see how the lungs working, and billed me another 431.00 & $45.00 insurance copay. And at the follow-up appointment after 3-week doctor Clayton refuse to see the patient because I was not willing to do the same test again & pay them about 400.00 once again so I was told, that doctor will not see the patient without these tests I was also told that the only Nurse will see your son & you must have to pay a $ 45.00 copay. I paid and left the facility for ever.Doctor didn’t find any significant thing; my son is doing just well.Made a wrong decision to go there, cost me about $1100. 00 cash out of pocket & they also charged my insurance company too.
Pediatric lung specialists are great! They have been seeing my child for about 3 years. I like all of the doctors and nurse practitioners so far. My wait time is normal 5-10 minutes. I don't have any problem getting appointments when my child is sick.Doctor Clayton is a very nice and caring Doctor. He is also very thorough in his examinations. I have never had any issues here.
Best doctor. Knowledgeable,very caring, listens.
Dr. Clayton is one of the best doctors my child has seen. My son has many issues that have lasted since birth. Dr. Clayton takes the time to make sure both my son and I understand what is going on. He also interacts with my child and engages him. I strongly recommend Dr. Clayton to anyone seeking help with a pulmonologist, you will not be disappointed.
Dr. Clayton is amazing and he saved my daughters life, literally. She had cronic bronchitis for over a year, we finally were referred to Dr. Clayton and he diagnosed her right away with chronic lung disease and several other codiagnisis that complicated her illness. He worked as the point person for our daughters care for over 5 years. In fact for a year he called me on his way home from work every night just to see how she was doing. She is now a 55 tall teenager that carries an inhaler in her purse and only needs it occasionally. Wow, he was amazing. Along the way my other two girls were diagnosed with Asthma and he spends just as much time and attention on them. He is amazing, an inspiration and a true hero!!! Thank you Dr. Clayton!
AWESOME physician. Excellent interaction with child and parent. Takes time to fully explain pulmonary condition/function. Super nice guy who goes above and beyond to provide quality care.
My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Claytons since her birth 20 years ago. He is THE best in his field theres no one better. Hes thorough, listens to what parents have to say, has an incredibly wonderful and caring bedside manner, and I cant say enough good things about him and his staff. To the reviewer who gave such an awful review of Dr. Clayton, I find it hard to believe that these things happened in any visit with Dr. Clayton as this is completely out of character for him.
Dr. Clayton was my sons pulmonary doctors for many years. He was always personable, easy to talk to and gave excellent care. We were very sad when my son aged out of his practice. I would recommend him very highly to anyone needing a pulmonary doctor.
Doctor James Clayton has been seeing my son since he was a couple years old. Childrens Hospital as well as UVA Hospital were overwhelmed with the complex nature of my sons illness. He has multiple airway problems, along with a trach, and malformed airway and lungs, along with more than 50 facial surgeries. Dr. Clayton stepped in and has kept my son healthy and alive for more than 20 years now. He calls us back, makes time to see us, he has even managed our son once when he became sick while out of town! His office staff are excellent every single form or phone call or problem that comes our way they are willing to help us with. There is no way to say enough about this man, his integrity, professionalism, compassion or intelligence. My son would not be alive today had it not been for Dr. Clayton.
Very knowledgeable, caring and patient. He is very personable, listens to patients, generous with prescriptions, does not ask you to come back to office several times for similar prescriptions. Very very caring and a genius with diagnosis
Excellent pediatric pulmonologist. Very experienced and knows exactly what is going on. Very nice personality as well.
Yes, my daughter went to see Dr. Clayton back in the spring time because she had a bad cough that would not go away. He refused to do an allergy test and put her on a number of medications. She was taking approx. 6 or 7 medications (one of which was causing her to vomit) and we were not seeing any results. He would not spend any time at all talking with my wife and I because he said he had to go see another patient ( total time with us was approx. 58 mins.), which is very unprofessional. Come to find out, we took our daughter to Childrens Hospital in D.C. and the first test they did was an allergy test and it came back as her being allergic to dust mites. Keep in mind that my daughter at this time was approx. 18 months old. I was just very upset at the level of professionalism I experienced.
First all, I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Clayton. He has truely been an answer to our prayers. I wish we were able to see him soon then we did. My son is now 19 months old. He was born 5 weeks early and with phemonia. He spent 2 weeks in the NICU. He has strugled to stay healthy . Lots of respiatory infections , ear infections and several virus. Dr. Clayton started him on a few meds. I was overwhelmed at first. How ever it took little to no time to see the difference in my son. I live a hour away from his office, the drive is worth it. My son is doing much better. I wish i could write the full story on here, but that would take forever!!! Hes a great caring doctor. Who truely cares about his patients!
