Dr. Ziedins operated on me a few years ago. I had diverticulitis and it destroyed part of my colon. Dr. Ziedins could have saved a lot of time and effort by cutting me open, cutting out the bad parts, and closing me up again. He didn't. He spent about 2 extra hours operating laparoscopically. The medical student who assisted told me later that when they saw that my colon was attached to my abdominal wall, she didn't think it would be possible to do the operation laparoscopically, but he did it. I was out of the hospital in 2 days instead of almost a week. The pain from the operation was less than I had before the operation and I healed quickly with 3 tiny incisions. I never had a bit of trouble. I think he is a wonderful surgeon and that he really puts the patient first. He is very respectful, very personable, explains things well, and will go out of his way to do what is best for the patient.

I just had my second surgery in five years with Dr. Ziedins. He is patient and good at explaining conditions. He was quick to provide me with results. I had good outcomes both times, with no complications. I have a parent who also had him for surgery. I went with the parent to appointments so I have seen him as both the patient and as a companion to a patient. You could not ask for a better general surgeon.

I could not ask for a better surgeon. I've had some health issues the past 18 months that have required multiple surgeries. Dr. Ziedins has done all but one of them. I feel very fortunate to have been referred to him. He is one of the most caring physicians I have had the pleasure to visit. He has done everything right by me. I hear nothing but good from some of his other patients I meet. I have also referred family and friends to him.
