Dr Lau took so much time with me. She listened carefully to all of my symptoms and did a thorough exam. She was so kind and even offered to help me with my compression stockings. She went above and beyond what I was expecting. She carefully documented everything and this was available to me in the notes and after visit summary. She has also cared for my husband for the past 10 years and has helped ...

She seems Disconnected.

License should be revoked. She is more concerned about her ego than patient care. Missed all the signs of an illness, then tried to cover it up by blaming the patient. UVM only keeps her because her husband is a Brilliant and Valuable doctor.

I went to Dr. Lau after I moved to Vermont bc I had been diagnosed with lupus by a rheumatologist in my old town. I had heard such great things about Dr. Lau but my experience was very different. She was okay during the appt if a little emotionless and dismissive. The real problem was when the results of all the tests came in and she just sent a message that the tests don't indicate a problem. There was absolutely no attempt to offer another explanation for my symptoms or suggestions for following up on them. I had to message her multiple times to get any advice. She seemed completely uninterested in actually helping me and was more interested in dismissing me.

She should not be a doctor

Very knowledgeable, treated me as a human being and not just a set of bones. Listened well, personable. Thinks outside the box. Seemed to have knowledge of what it means to be an ex-ballerina with chronic pain. This doctor really knows her stuff. She is not for people who want to stay sick. She is a doctor for people who want to get better. She will not tell you what you want to hear but what you need to know.

I have personally found Dr.Lau to be one of the most personable, kind, compassionate people I have ever known! Both she and her staff have been more than accommodating when issues have arisen as well as when I have had questions or concerns... Couldn't be more pleased with the care I have recieved there!

I had filed a complaint against this doctor and had hoped that she would treat future patients with a modicum of respect but sadly the one review from 2018 shows that this steely cruel doctor continued on her path. She likely has mental health issues. UVM medical center needs a better system to keep out-of-control doctors in check

Down plays your symptoms, doesn’t have good bedside manner, has an ego that doesn’t match skills

Excellent staff and Dr. Lau is amazing. She listened, she responded and helped me right away. I have CREST (Calcinosis, Raynaud's, Esophogeal dysfunction, Scleroderma, and Telangiectasia - dilated vessels of the skin and face - spider veins) and she was the only doctor that diagnosed it properly. I would recommend, and have, her to everyone with autoimmune diseases.
