I saw Dr. Skidd in December 2015 when I was having an acute case of double vision. He looked at a brain scan that was taken of me and concluded that a small bleed was the culprit and that I would have to wait months for it to clear, there being no treatment. I sought a section opinion from a neuro-opthalmologist at Weill Cornell. He was amused by Dr. Skidd's opinion, because the bleed was on the opposite side of the nerve that was not functioning properly. As he told me, that nerve "does not cross the midline." From his tone, I gathered that this was elementary knowledge. Having ruled out Skidd's incorrect diagnosis, we found the real cause of the problem (nerve demyelination, which is a chronic condition for me and on my chart) and addressed it with a temporary fix (a prism for my glasses) and by increasing the frequency of my treatments for the underlying problem. My vision was back to normal in a couple of weeks, no thanks to Dr. Skidd.

I met Dr Skidd about 6 months ago, He listens to everything you have to say and answers you with respect and honesty. He is a compassionate doctor and thorough.

Dr. Skidd is the most rude and arrogant doctor I have ever met. He tried to connect all my prior medical problems with my current eye/neurological problem (consulted quite a few other doctors since and they are not related whatsoever). Completely dismissed anything I tried to say. He might be a good ophthalmologist, but I wouldn't know because his attitude and bedside manner are horrible.

Dr. Skidd misdiagnosed the cause of my eye problem. Those things happen. However, the cause of the misdiagnosis was either not knowing basic anatomy or not knowing left from right. Dr. Skidd was very sure of his diagnosis and almost had me convinced. Thankfully, I saw a much more qualified doctor out of state who corrected the misdiagnosis and provided me with an implement to mitigate my double vision. Dr, Skidd had attempted to do the same with a piece of cellophane tape.
