List of Richard T. Grunert's Reviews
Dr. Grunert is the doctor we saw as a second opinion. The problem was created by Dr. Perrapato. My dad went in for a simple removal of scar tissue because he was having problems urinating without medication. Once this was done, Dr. Perrapato told him, it was taken care of and he shouldn't have anymore issues. Every since then, November of last year, my dad has been to the emergency room numerous times because he could not urinate. He has been catherized and continuously plugs up because he has blood clots. He has had to catherize himself twice a day and continuously bleeds. He has gone to Dr. Grunert for a second opinion and he has been absolutely no help. My dad got an infection and was on antibiotics for a month. He saw Dr. Grunert again once the infection was gone and Dr. Grunert asked him, "what do you want to do?" Really........My dad asked if they could go up with a scope to find out why he is bleeding. He was scheduled for blood work and a CT scan and the procedure today. My dad again had to go to the emergency room on Saturday and again has an infection and put back on antibiotics and a catheter put in. From Saturday until today, he has had to flush the catheter out several times because it is getting plugged with clots. He had his appointment today at one, but had to call to get in earlier because he could not flush his catheter and had not urinated from the night before. He was uncomfortable and called. They said to come in at 1030 and they would get him ready for 11. He was there at 1015, but was never called in until 1115. Dr. Grunert saw him and said well, you have an infection, we can't do the procedure with that. So, he told the nurse to take the catheter out, continue on the antibiotics and he would see him in a month. Dr. Grunert is arrogant with no bedside manner and gives the patient and family the feeling of not caring. I have never given a review, but this is ridiculous and if this is what the medical field is becoming, we are paying way to much for these doctors.
I recently saw Dr. Grunert for a problem I have had for many years. I had been treated for this problem in other states by other urologists who were unable to perform the procedure in their office. Dr. Grunert was successful in performing this procedure in his office at my second visit with him. In the past when other urologists attempted this procedure, it was extremely painful. Dr. Grunert's approach, knowledge and compassion got me through this procedure pain free. He is simply the best!
He is a very thoughtful physician. He has helped my father with some very difficult issues with cancer and stones. He has an excellent staff and an excellent reputation in the community. Thank you so much for the excellent care!
I emailed his office three times with no response regarding kidney pain until I finally had to call. At my appointment I explained that no one returned my emails and he dismissed it as an issue. Dr. Grunert dismissed my concerns regarding kidney pain. He did not ask questions nor examine, just said it is nothing and dismissed me. I continue to have kidney pain and my symptoms have continued. Now I have pain in my perineum as well.
Dr Grunert was has the worst bedside manners I have ever experienced. Very arrogant and uncaring. To make it worse he had no idea of what he was talking about for such a serious condition. After I visited him twice I wanted to shoot myself. My GOD, he is a Urologist! He should have kind of filter on what he says to his patients. What he told me was not even correct. I did finally go to Dartmoth and was seen by a wonderful and knowledgeable Dr. I have never rated a DR before, but he upset me so much I feel I have to.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
