Dr. John helped me through my battle with UC. He seems aloof, but he was always attentive and even came to visit me in the ER at one point, even though he wasn't the attending physician. Dr. John kept close tabs on my case and erred on the side of caution when things got bad. I eventually underwent surgery to remove my entire colon, but he still remembers me two years later and came in on one of his days off to see me when I was having additional issues.

I’m new to the area and I have a history of colon cancer and endometrial uterine cancer. I started having symptoms and called my family doc back in Pennsylvania. I told her everything that has been going on with me. She told me to make an appointment with a GI doc ASAP! I called this office who refused to make an appointment iuntil my doc sent them notes. Then after they reviewed the notes they would make an appointment for me but I would have to wait TIL June. So much for caring about ppl!

I had a terrible experience with him- he was dismissive and flip. He only saw me in person twice- once to put me on a diet that made me WORSE without doing any other tests first, dismissed the prominent areas I was having pain, continued to prescribe over the counter meds and passed me onto his nurse. I was later diagnosed with ascites due to stage IV CANCER, not ibs, "bloat" or stress. If you are looking for someone with compassion, problemselving or dedication, do not go to this guy.

Very condescending and rude. I'm currently looking for a different doctor. He shrugs issues off and makes light of problems. Makes it seem like you don't know what you're talking about when it's you that deals with your body and problems 24/7 and he looks at your file for 10 seconds and knows the answers. Actually told me nothing was wrong and I ended up at my Primary care to get the medication I needed for an abscess that was forming.
