List of Jeffrey A. Crandall's Reviews
Splint was unnecessary. Not impressed with my care over the years.
after 3 years of going to this "Dr" i fled... as a refugee of this "Dr" I found a more attentive, caring and professional Dr elsewhere, I suggest you skip this pleasure and find a different provider, one who knows what they're doing...
Sketchy practices. unreliable staff.
I was first diagnosed with TMJ disorder 10 years ago. I did splint therapy my pain went away. I fell down several times this past winter and the last fall took my jaw out of place. I went back to Dr. Crandall and am doing splint therapy again. I am doing much better. I don't care about all these bad comments on here. He has always done right by me and he will continue to be my Dr.
Dr. Crandall is a professional and the staff are all friendly. This is my second time with TMJ disorder. I was able to get right in after not being his patient for 10 years. I have a new splint and my pain is gone. I don't understand the low ratings. He knows what he is doing.
I was in severe pain on first seeing dr.crandall. He has helped me tremendously
Dr. Crandall was extremely thorough, and spent a lot of personal time with me discussing my TMJ problem. The appliance works great, and the staff were very helpful in explaining my insurance coverage before having any services done. I wish more doctors spent this kind of time with their patients.
I can understand not having the results you wanted with chronic pain, but some comments don't seem to reflect the conversations we have in his waiting room. Insurance covered access to quality care for TMD is so rare. Nothing they did to me was irreversible. The Dr. obviously has challenge with the volume of patients, but this office take considerable time to problem solve splints & treatment or explain why there is an impasse. Count me among those who are worried about the day he will retire.
My TMD treatment was successful for this life long chronic condition. It is currently stable and I am functioning without pain. I appreciate not having only access to care here (often it is not covered by insurance), but also the focus on thoroughness and quality. I know they see a spectrum of patients with a wide range of complications. With me it was always evidence based problem solving, focused on avoiding invasive or at least informing invasive procedures success. Those invasive procedures were done at other offices. Dr. Crandall only does conservative and preventative treatment. His splints are costume made and the staff works professionally with great skill to problem solve them within the reality I present. If there was ever an issue with the splint they tried to fix it or gave me good reason why it could not be. Nothing they did to me was irreversible or not worth trying to problem solve with them. Sometimes Dr. Crandall was behind or I had issues getting an appointment time, but count me among those who are worried about the day he will retire. I have witnessed frustrated patients, but the staff did their best to manage and seemed to understand the effect pain played in this context. It was clear they manage as best they can a high volume of patients and negativity from that reflects access to care issues, more than the failings of staff and a doctor who seem to work tirelessly to help patients. Staff and the Dr. spend more time with me then my primary care office; at least a full hour or more. I happen to know Dr. Crandall gave up a more comfortable path as a local general dentist, but instead chose to become educated and pursue a more challenging path, helping people in pain for the past 30 years. We are lucky to have him in Vermont. This is a unique opportunity in a broken healthcare system. I can understand not having the results you wanted, but some of the comments here don't seem to reflect the conversations we have in his waiting room.
Dr. Crandall was very thorough, his explanations were easy to understand, and his staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to him my extreme jaw pain is gone. When my dentist did some tooth work that made my splint impossible to use, they give me a quick appointment and got it to fit again.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
