Michelle Young and this office is amazing. Due to the nature of retinal disease they take retinal emergencies seriously. The long wait times are in part due to the triaging of emergencies and folding them into their day. Retina Doctors are few and far between, however Vermont is so fortunate to have her and this whole team. Vision is worth the wait as blindness may be the alternative. She’s saved my husband’s vision 3 times over! Yeah it’s a wait. There are signs. They do their best, and as long as you appreciate the situation, it’s doable. Thank goodness we don’t have to go to Boston for this type of expert care!
I had a torn retina while traveling on Sept. 8, 2019 and Dr. Young came into her office to repair the tear on a Sunday and only a half hour notice. She was very professional and explained the procedure very well. When I returned to my home in South Carolina I went for my follow-up with my eye specialist. He said the tear was much larger than the one I had a year ago in my other eye. He said Dr. Young did an excellent job and all looked very good.
Excellent care of diabetic retinopathy, friendly amd professional staff.
I was seen the same day - as a new patient! - for some vision changes. Staff is friendly, efficient, and professional. The waiting room is clean, and Dr. Young professional, knowledgeable, and really knows her stuff! I won't go anywhere else!
I had just recently moved to the area and had no opthalmologist- I started having flashes and floaters. Dr. Young saw me that same day, and also the same day I had more vision changes. Her staff is friendly and professional, as is Dr. Young. I'm so glad I found her! The wait times can be long- but they are taking care of others - and they offer snacks, books, wifi, and coffee for the wait.
I waited 3 hours. I inquired after 1.5 hours in the waiting room and was told they had stated I could expect the appointment to be 2-3 hours long and the Doctor was busy because she was also on call. It seems they routinely have patients wait that long and there were signs that you should be prepared to wait 2-3+ hours. The Doctor and staff were inappropriate with techs in jeans and sweatshirts and I overheard the Doctor complaining that it was 5pm and she still had many, many patients waiting.
Excellent doctor
Dr. Young delivered my baby and helped me through my entire high risk pregnancy. I cannot tell you how much it meant it to me that she was there helping me through my high risk pregnancy .. reassuring me and caring for me .. she is my angel! I owe my healthy baby and my health to her. She is amazing!!!
Dr. Young is a very fine doctor, she understand your problems and works with you to gets the best treatment for you, her staff is also top notch. I think when you can trust someone with your eye sight that says it all. She has been my doctor for the last two and half years and I wouldn't go any place else
I have been with Dr. Young for over 10 years. She is a very caring doctor. I see her only once a year for a regular checkup, but she remembers me and always starts with conversation about my family and work. When I had to make an appointment with an REI doctor, he wasn't available until three months later. Dr. Young booked me on his first available day, and told me to call the REI office in a week to see if there was any cancellation so that I could reschedule my appointment earlier (She said there was always some cancellations there because some people got pregnant before their appointment). That was a good tip.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
