List of Muriel H. Nathan's Reviews
Dr. Muriel Nathan is fabulous. Excellent communicator. She has been treating me for years for my thyroid problems which includes graves disease. She spends time answering my questions without feeling rushed. Her follow up notes are great! Highly recommend her.
Dr Nathan is exceptional. I started seeing her for my hypothyroid issues a few years ago and wouldn't go to anyone else. Her ability to explain meds, biology, interactions, etc is super helpful. I would recommend her highly!
I found a much better endocrinologist without a personality disorder which this other reviewer is telling me try to work around when dealing with this doctor. (I shouldn't have to attempt to cope with that and I can tell you both my appts with her were atrocious despite coping with her defects. Calling it genius or insulting my comparative "average" intellect is very silly btw.) I now have a great endo and an appropriate treatment plan that I work with her on and she can handle my multiple autoimmune diseases, even researches them and watches clinical outcome rather than remaining ignorant and condescending. Listening comprehension is the best diagnostic skill an endo has; someone in a craze who can't listen and who is always late, upset, and frankly seeming on the verge of a breakdown as well isn't going to cut it for my situation. I want a professional, not someone who put zero effort in while behaving unprofessionally and arrogant. No faith in this doc. My condition has improved under real care, slowed progression. My current endo was disappointeded by Nathan's notes btw. Inadequate and ignorant.
Something very off in demeanor, not good communication skills, problematic.
Murial Nathan is a brilliant mind. Her brain is always running at mach 5 and yes, it is sometimes difficult to get through to her. Here's the lowdown... She is a genius. She is just like Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory. She comes off as uncaring and condescending. I assure you she is not any of those things. She is just not as socially aware as most of us. When you talk, it stops her thought process. She gets frustrated with this and it comes off as rude. I write a list of things I want to address with her and she literally goes down the list with you. She will respond to a list! Let her thought process have free range with your list and you will be pleased! I am fortunate enough to be married to a Sheldon Cooper type, so I get it. Some people so smart inside their own heads they have difficulty explaining things to those of us with average intellect. Just like Sheldon, she is quite charming once you accept who she is and react accordingly. At the end of my last appointment, she hugged me! And I hugged back! She will take care of you, but not in the way your Mother would! Deal with it! She is the best at what she does in our neck of the woods!!!!!
Muriel is THE best, most knowledgable endocrinologist out there! I have seen her for 15 years. I have no thyroid at all, and she has figured out ANY issues I've had over the years, better than all the primary care doctors I have ever seen. I rate her as one of the best in the country! Yes you have to wait a little in the office, but so what? She is in high demand, and is often doing emergent calls at the hospital where my husband works. Absolute the best in her field.
I have been seeing Doctor Nathan for many years. She has always been a pleasure. She is very knowledgeable and always understands the difficulty of managing blood sugar. I have Type I and work hard at control, but I don't always succeed. I appreciate Doctor Nathan not scolding me, but offering helpful suggestions. My only issue is that she is VERY busy. It is not easy to get an appointment.
Unprofessional. I couldn't bring her down to earth enough to have a conversation about my symptoms or care thus far or my complicating diagnoses. I think if you just want someone to look at basic labs and tell you the obvious fine. If you expect a professional treatment or even a modicum of respect or normalcy than not the doctor for you.
May have great experience but doesnt treat patients well. Has cased more confusion in my care than helpful. Only good for medication refills
She was confrontational and nutty from start to finish after I waited an hour for her to finally make her entrance. A doctor needs to listen to patient symptoms, rather than rail against other doctors while inflating her ego. The nurse even warned me that she is an angry, over-wrought person and to brace myself. When I responded with curiosity the nurse clammed up. I feel bad for the staff, but she was right, it was awful. And her nutty rants were loaded with outdated information and weird lies.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
