List of Melissa Volansky's Reviews
Awesome! Tuned in as I talk, asks questions and diagnoses accurately, sends me on my way with what I need! Ditto for family members. Highly recommend to anyone!
Inept, no follow-through, not thorough and misdiagnosed my problem. Then, despite many calls to the disorganized staff to get her to rectify mistakes she made and finally address my issue, she didn’t call me back for weeks. Uncaring and no bedside manner, either.
As a patient of Dr.Volansky for almost 5 years now, I’m sad to say I will be leaving and am searching for a new PCP. I used to feel like she cared about my well being and wanted to help, but as time has progressed and I’ve become older and less naive, I realize how often she talks down to me, and dismisses (serious) symptoms I’ve mentioned. After 5 years of complaining about VERY obvious Lyme symptoms, I’ve discovered I’m lyme positive! With no help from her. Now I’m in for a long battle.
Intelligent, experienced, respectful and kind. She is an outstanding physician and all patient could ask for.
Usually see another Dr at Stowe Family Practice but needed a Saturday appointment so they put me with Dr. Volansky. I loved her! She was friendly and courteous and sympathetic. I would see her again in a hearbeat!
I hurt my shoulder. Volansky tested rotator cuff, said there was nothing wrong with my shoulder. I insisted, pointed to my shoulder blade. Volansky said that was the scapula, not part of my shoulder. Huh? Sent for nerve conduction test, positive for CTS. In a phone call, I told of intense pain and swelling in my hand and shoulder pain. Volansky referred me to an OT, ended our conversation with, "We won't need to see each other again for this issue." Six weeks of Hand therapist soaking insurance company & me for two thousand but didn't address shoulder pain or hand swelling/pain. On line research said prednisone used to treat carpal tunnel. I take Hydrocortisone for pituitary insufficiency, so self-medicated for CTS. Pain/swelling gone in two days. Had Volansky monitored my case, a $10 prednisone scrip would have saved a month of agony, & thousands. Volansky won't listen, focuses on laptop & condescends alternative practitioners--who correctly treated me for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
Have been ignored when i had various physical complaints , was offered antidepressants instead. A break in my back went undiagnosed for 4 yrs. until i went to someone else for an xray, had xray at Stowe Family Practice, was told it was "all healed " nothing to be done... returned w/ male partner all bent over in pain and sent to spine clinic in burl. Ended up w/ 3 compression breaks , one other too old to fix., had surgery and now feel better . No check in by D. Volansky during the 2 months of this treatment w/ 3 specialists except for a call early on in my treatment in Fletcher Allen -on a fri. at closing telling me she believed i had multiple myeloma and was leaving on vacation. So i went from worrying that i was a depressive-hypochondraic to having cancer in her eyes all in 1 fell swoop ! What a fun 4 yrs. and summer i have had!!! I was NOT being heard and i do not know if it was because i am female, on medicare or she did not have time for me

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
