Joy Makdisi's Online Review Report Card

I had reservations about my Basel cell removal because it was on my cheek below my left eye. I met with Dr. Makdisi prior to my surgery, she explained everything that was going to happen in detail and made me feel comfortable about the procedure. I've had several Basel cells removed prior by other surgeons but I have to say Dr. Makdisi.....well there is no one like her, she is absolutely the best I have ever experienced, from pre-op to surgery to after care follow up. Her staff also is some of the best I have experienced. Great group, hands down a 10 plus!!

Dr. Joy Makdisi is now working in Western Washington for North Sound Dermatology. She is guilty of criminal assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) resulting in serious bodily injury. Without my consent, instead of performing minimally invasive Mohs Cancer Surgery, which I had consented to and have had before, Dr. Joy Makdisi cut two large , unnecessary, jagged surgical excisions into my body: one in the center of my face, including my lip, and one in the center of my chest, with a total of at least 23 extremely large, jagged, uneven stitches.

Dr. Makdisi and her assistants are the best! Dr. Makdisi is an excellent surgeon and a terrific communicator. She helped me understand little aspects of the procedure that has never been explained to me before - useful information that just helped me more fully understand my situation. The assistants and nurses in the office couldn’t have been more pleasant and professional. Surgery is never fun - but given that, I can’t imagine a better surgery experience.

Dr. Makdisi and her staff have great bedside manner, communicated clearly, did as they said, and the surgery went as well as can be asked from any operation. The help from the front office, the technical reminders, and the technicians around the Doctor were very kind and professional. Kevin

I had the Mhos Procedure. It went well, Doctor was fine, and did explain when the needle came to numb. But all in all, if I hadn't read up about this Procedure on-line, I wouldn't have a clue about what they were doing. None of the nurses spoke. I do understand it's different under these masks now days. But when one said, "You'll be here for about an hour now", Why? For what? Can I sit up? Can I stand? I had to ask all those questions quickly before the nurse left the room. Someone's head did pop in about half way through to ask if I was ok. I think more communication as to what was happening would ease up a stressful time. After I was ok, and able to go, there was no communication regarding the stiches. Just that I was to leave the pressure bandage on for 3 days. It just seemed a bit cold to me, the time in the little room, the procedure. I don't look for "warm and fuzzy" under these masks, but maybe more explanation would sure help.

She is extremely competent and caring. I highly recommend. I had a MOHs procedure.

Dr. Makdisis did an outstanding job! Frankly, I was not expecting that the procedure would require as large an incision; however, it's clear to me now that the reason was to cosmetically blend it in with the natural lines in my forehead. The wound is healing extremely well and the skill that went into the placement of the sutures is amazing. Dr. Makdisi is highly skilled and; therefore, highly recommended.
