Office environment is very nice. Support staff on 2/2 visits were professional and friendly. However, my experience with Dr. Whitaker was far less positive. I found him to be arrogant, condescending, uncaring, intimidating, insulting and disturbingly unprofessional both interpersonally and in his delivery of care. Sparing all the unpleasant interpersonal details, I will say that as a veteran healthcare professional myself, I was appalled by the standard of care I received from him when he performed a basic surgical procedure on me. My list of grievances based on direct experience as his patient of his is long and serious to the degree that I question his right to practice medicine. In summary, I would highly discourage anyone from seeking medical care from Dr. Whitaker.

For two years Dr. Whitaker said a spot on my arm was “nothing.” Soon after my last visit with Whitaker another dermatologist friend noticed the spot and said it required an immediate biopsy. I followed that advice and now have a 7 inch scar on my arm from the removal of a melanoma cancer. Whitaker has a Lettet of Reprimand in Arizona for his substandard practice in that jurisdiction. I live in Washington State and had no prior knowledge of his Arizona reprimand.

Many years of experience shows through his easy, down to earth demeanour. The patients best interest is always at the top of the list of proposed surgical repairs and treatment plans. Would not hesitate to send family members to him since he is the best!

On the surface, Dr. Whitaker is a nice, friendly person. However, I had an experience with him that completely changed my viewpoint. Without getting into too much detail, I found that he is quite defensive, angers easily, contradicts what his staff tells you on the phone and is unwilling to admit that he may have made a mistake. He performed a Mohs procedure to remove a very small squamous cell growth on the back side of my right ear . Four months after the procedure, I am still in pain.

I have had many skin cancers removed by Dr. Whitaker. With no problems. A very nice man. And a wonderful Doctor.

Dr. Whitaker did surgery on my face for a basil cell carcinoma. He never saw me before the surgery, never discussed my surgery with me. When I phoned his nurse to get some information I was brushed off. The surgery itself was terrible and I got an infection. I then went to another surgeon in Tucson and had 2 repair surgeries so I am all right now. I feel that I was treated very badly by Dr. Whitaker and his (inept) staff and I would NEVER rrecommend him!

Dr. Whitaker is an extremely knowledgeable, caring professional. He made me feel well cared for and he was empathetic toward my disease. You are in wonderful hands if you are one of his patients!
