I was anxious about going out for physical therapy after knee replacement and became so thankful that they could come to our home. I enjoyed meeting 2 different therapist. They were both so friendly, professional and encouraging. I highly recommend them both
Excellent prep, initial contact, follow thru, communication, execution, etc. e.g. so far so good, Really good, I’m looking forward to the excellent Exchange between our parties. Harambee!!! Krp
Alexa is a fantastic woundcare professional. Very compassionate and knowledgeable about caring for her wounds. We were sad that your company no longer services the Renton area. Thank you . Sam Amira for Charlene Graber Amira
My mother has been using this company after a life-threatening gastrointestinal illness and emergency surgery that resulted in an ostomy. When we chose this company for home healthcare, we were told they would provide ostomy education and support during her recovery. Unfortunately, our experience was inconsistent. The first two nurses who visited did not appear to have significant ostomy-care knowledge, and there was very limited assessment or education regarding her stoma and surrounding skin issues. A later nurse was much more knowledgeable, which we appreciated. However, during the visit, comments were made about ostomies being “gross” and always having an odor. My mother found these remarks upsetting and discouraging while adjusting to a major life-saving medical device during a very vulnerable time. Managing an ostomy already carries a significant emotional and physical adjustment, and compassionate, knowledgeable support is extremely important for patients recovering from major surgery. Based on our experience, we did not feel that level of support was consistently provided.
Brooke Jacoby was our contact during my dad’s fast decline before we went to Columbus Hospice and she called us after. She stayed in touch with us through our whole journey, checking on us, and praying for us. We could not have had a better person cross our path. She is truly a god send in a time of need. Such a compassionate person. We love you, Brooke. Sue, Cheree, Wendi, and Jennifer
iv been a patient of this agency last year after a knee replacement, and currently after hip replacement. The therapist s that have come to see me and the nurses have all been totally professional and caring and kind. it was a good experience last year and this year. I was even lucky enough to have the same therapist s as last year! even the statt at a medysis was so patient with me a few weeks ago, and listened to my concerns, and pain issues etc. im grateful for the excellent care iv received, it means so much. thank you. dawn Cubano
I am deeply disappointed by my experience with Amedisys, and I feel it’s important to share this to help other families navigating end-of-life care. My mother is currently under their hospice services in a nursing home, and she made it very clear to me that she did not want to spend her final days there—she wanted to come home to be surrounded by family in a peaceful, familiar environment. We had everything in place: a new hospice provider ready to support us and a certified nursing assistant (CNA) lined up for her care at home, specifically for when she becomes unresponsive with no fluid or food intake during her last days. However, the hospice case worker from Amedisys strongly discouraged this move and influenced my siblings to keep Mom in the nursing home, even though it went against her stated wishes. When I asked why she was advising against something that would bring our family more comfort, she didn’t offer a clear explanation. She emphasized that Mom was “comfortable” there, but this was only a short-term arrangement since we initially lacked the resources to bring her home—Mom had no other option then and adapted as best she could. Once our plan was ready, the case worker continued to push back. I directly asked what specific care Mom would receive in the nursing home that couldn’t be provided at home, given that she will soon be unresponsive, with a full-time catheter, no fluid or food intake, and only basic needs like repositioning every few hours and medication. The case worker couldn’t give a concrete answer—it came down to general statements without details. It seems this may have been motivated by financial considerations, as changing providers would mean Amedisys no longer billing for her care. This approach felt more focused on business interests than on the emotional needs of families or the patient’s preferences. What kind of hospice prioritizes its own processes over what could provide the most peace in a loved one’s final days? This doesn’t feel like truly compassionate care—it’s more like a service that overlooks family dynamics, and it has strained our relationships at a challenging time. If you’re looking into Amedisys, I suggest considering other options. Choose providers that genuinely focus on patients and families above all else. I wouldn’t recommend them. It’s truly sad that my siblings agreed with this decision, leading Mom to spend her final days in a place she specifically said she didn’t want to be.
The staff were above amazing and compassionate to my family. Would recommend to anyone!
My friend had a horrible experience with this company. Steer clear. “I highly recommend not using Amedisys Home Health Care for any type of Hospice care. It absolutely did not live up to what we were sold. My dad went home last Tuesday and a nurse never came, called or reached out in any way to check on him. I was told on Thursday at 3 pm someone would be there before the end of the day and no one ever came. He passed away a little after 9 pm. I was later told it was due to the nurse not syncing her device before she went home that night. I called someone twice about coming out and they seemed to have no idea what their role was regarding his situation. It was a horrible lack of communication, preparation and a disservice to my dad and his loved ones. We have reached out multiple times to the company to arrange pickup of his equipment and bed, and to date it is all still there, a bleak and horrible reminder. I love my dad dearly and would never ever have agreed to send him home to this lack of care and disregard for his humanity. The only one who was wonderful to us was the Social Worker - Audrey - who came out on Thursday morning. I finally had to reach out to her today to get anything done regarding the equipment pickup. I normally would not put something like this out there but I am outraged and hopefully it might help you and your family if you are ever in this situation.”

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
