My right eyewash blind after his cataract surgery to reduce eye pressure, except for a tiny sliver at the side where I could still see 20/30 as I had before the surgery. My iris wa not centered but off-center. He prescribed large steroid doses (3 or 4 pills a day plus drops) which I found out later increase IOP (intra ocular pressure), He did not respond to my requests for a prognosis but said,'Don't you trust me?'The sliver was dimming. I told him I was having trouble with my other eye but he said, 'I'm working on the right eye.'After two more surgeries in a 9 month period, he told me, 'I think your glaucoma is getting worse.' I thought to myself that he' an ophthalmologist, he certainly knew that all along. A new ophthalmologist named the cause of my blindness reticular entanglement. i think this may basically mean, scrambled eye.

Dr. Barnebey is professional, caring, patient, knowledgeable with a wonderful bedside manner. He takes the time to hear and answer his patients questions without rushing. The office staff are amazingly friendly and knowledgeable as well. Over all great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Barnebey.

Doctor failed operation for a close friend and doesn’t want to fix it. He is very bad tempered and doesn’t have any patience.

Dr Barnebey is a great doctor and excellent surgeon and he does care about his patients. I would recommend him as a doctor. And pack your patience. As some have mentioned the appointment can run long. The eye care you'll receive is well worth the wait.

My client was there for one hour and 15 minutes.. The the optometrist visited him for 5 minutes. All other testing was done by techs. Maybe not such a big deal, but we certainly didn't need to drive to Bellevue for our appointment. I believe we'll find someone closer to home.

Terrible experiences. The doctor is rude and hard to communicate. I took my mom to her doctor appointment the other day. We waited for him for 15-20 minute. And I had several emails and important text I had to respond to while waiting. The minute he walked in, he said put your cell away. I said, give me a minute to wrap up my message and I’ll be happy to. He shush me several times, as I’m trying to convey to him why I needed to wrap up. He threatened to leave the room and come back later (which I know would be a 2 hr. wait. At the point, what was an one hour appointment is already running over). I suggest why don’t I leave the room to finish up what I’m doing and I can return later, and he can start doing what he needed to with my mom. He shushed me again. Very bad bedside manner. Would not recommend the doctor at all. He is cranky, short temper, hard to communicate, his sending of prescription to pharmacy is delayed more often than not. We are looking for a new specialist for my mom.

Terrible bedside manner. Refused elderly patients and did not take responsibility for his complications.

Dr. Barnebey is the best. He performed a procedure which I was very nervous. Talking to him kept me calm and I knew all would go well. His staff is just as wonderful as he is. I would recommend him to all my family and friends.

Without telling me ahead of time, and although my Regence coverage is excellent, Dr. Barnebey went ahead with procedures not covered by my insurance. Most medical offices get prior insurance authorization for tests and procedures but Dr. Barnebey and staff don't want to do the work of that. Additionally, I was told my initial appointment would involve testing by staff then Dr. Barnebey would come in and give his recommendation for treatment. Dr. Barnebey did come in, but said he wouldn't be giving his recommendations for treatment because I'd need to make another appointment for that.
