List of Overlake Medical Center And Clinics's Reviews
The doctor in emergency on a Monday was urgently thoughtful. He gently informed me that my mother’s systems were failing, she was going to pass away soon, likely that night. I was able to contact relatives for a big farewell. She was very coherent Tuesday, LOVED seeing grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Wednesday was not as good. She passed on Friday. The staff was WONDERFUL! Explaining & consoling.
Baby born here and we had a good experience, thanks OB and nurses who helped us!
Terrible patient experience. If you are 5 minutes late, they will force you to reschedule. Has happened multiple times. No consideration for traffic, childcare, or extraneous situations. No consideration on the other side for making patients wait. You deal with their policy, no repercussions for Overlake in making you wait. This is a new universal policy of Overlake leading to frustration and wasted time on all sides. Patients should consider this experience when choosing Overlake.
Excellent experience as a family member of a patient who was admitted to labor and delivery. All staff we worked with were kind, responsive and professional. Appreciated the tea selection available on the floor. Clean. Private rooms with very good sound proofing. Food was good - some entrees better than others.
Admin at building 3 is very discriminative when I asked for directions. This senior lady without any context was asking if I was looking for “behavioral health”… excuse me??? Can we hire more decent and educated staff here?
Spent 3 hours in a patient room in the ER dealing with curt, rude nurses, no answers and a drunk beligerant man yelling in the bed next to mine.I understand that there can be a large number of patients or overworked staff but the treatment of the people in your care is abhorant. This emergency department is the reason people have distrust of doctors and medical personnel.
Garage 5 is a part of Building 5. Neither is a part of Overlake Hospital. Both pretend to be a part of Overlake Hospital. I spent 2 full days plus the night between trying to get my car out of Garage 5 after my husband’s surgery. Then 13 days after his surgery he needed a wheelchair and we were told the load zone in front of Garage 5 is ONLY FOR STARBUCKS COFFEE PICK-UP. I would think there is an ADA Violation in that. My husband had to be pushed by a volunteer across and through a labyrinth from Garage 3 to Clinics located in Building 5 because of the load zone being only for Starbucks customers. Yes Building/Garage 5 demands the private phone number be provided to a corporation in New Jersey for anyone dumb enough to park there. Furthermore if you have forgotten, you are in bad trouble. To get my car out, I had to get emergency help from Overlake Hospital Security. Then 5 hours later I went to Overlake ER where I was given 2 bags of IV fluids and told a blood pressure of 170/100 is completely normal and we all know there is nothing normal about a BP of 170/100.
We came into the emergency room because we more than likely needed imaging. From start to finish, we had an amazing visit. From the receptionist at the front desk, the triage nurse, Brandon, I think. To our amazing nurse Erin, I think that was her name, (she had amazing hair ), Erin's bedside manner was unlike anything I've ever experienced. She was professional, quick, didn't forget about us, even though I knew we weren't her only patients, but she made us feel that way and that's HUGE! The transporter who took us to MRI and the MRI technician, who loves Harley's and Subaru's, was also amazing. Within 15 min, after the MRI, we were getting discharged and guess who we saw last? Who actually gave us our discharge papers? Dr Meer, I believe his name was. Usually Drs have the nurses or the CNAs check you out, but from start to finish, Dr Meer was amazing! What a great freakin experience, in and out within 4-5 hours, on a busy Sunday! Keep up the great work Overlake!!!!
What a nightmare this hospital is! My husband had a delay in what should have been a routine surgery. He spent 10 days here. The nursing staff we met is enormous over that 10 day period. A different RN and a different practical nurse were assigned every 12 hours, meaning 20 teams each of 2. From all of those staff members only 5 seemed caring and competent. I myself will never be a patient at Overlake. Luckily my husband was saved by a competent surgeon but the hospital staff are mostly rotten. Right from the start as I waited 5 hours to learn my husband’s gall bladder had ruptured +perforated a portion of his liver, nurses were nasty. A surgical nurse reporting to other families finally came back with info about where I would go to find my husband and she laughed at me about how far a hike I would have to find him in South-5 she said. "Hah ha ha you will get a very long walk." Me with a giant brace on my knee. This same nurse only responded to me because i spoke out asking please could she find out about my husband. Her answer "oh he was moved an hour ago." Then she criticized me claiming "you were not here in the beginning, were you?", implying I must not care about my husband. Right after staff took my husband back, I had left for 40 minutes to get food at the hospital cafeteria since the long drive from Kittitas county prevented me from having time for food that day. The problems went on and on. I will keep my care at Swedish and UW, no surgeries ever for me at Overlake. It is only a trauma level 3 hospital so good luck! I stayed in my husband's room with him as long as possible. One day maybe Day 3 my husband yanked out his IV, I called staff immediately. By Day 4 staff ran in and accused me of telling him to do that. No, of course I did not do that. But the robot with a nurse watching the video claimed I did. There sure were a bunch of gossipy nasty staff. Right in the beginning, staff whispered jokes about my senior husband's appearance nude. They would have said nasty things about me as well. We were able to hear their loud whispering since we both have perfect hearing despite being of advanced ages. I complained later to a hospital representative supposedly representing patients, on Day 8, in person. She never called me back. I have read in professional journals the medical community's self criticism that the worst problem in healthcare today, other than no universal care, is the lack of empathy for patients. Overlake proved themselves lacking empathy.
An excellent hospital hands down! I spent one night for observation after suffering a minor head injury and both the doctors and staff were outstanding! Both Docter Boswell and Bennett should be highly commended for getting me on the road to recovery very quickly! Highly recommended!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
